550s good enough for a 50trim?

I currently have fuel mods 255walboro, 550s and an safc on a t-25. would these fuel mods make the most out of a t3/4 50 trim in my gs-t?

you might want to go with the 650s or maybe even a little higher than that. I use 650s with my evo 16G (I know its overkill but it goes to show it doesnt hurt to have the capability)

I am looking into going with a 50 trim this summer and from what i have been told by people on here and from what i have gathered from doing searches 720's are what most people seem to be happy with but then you said you have an safc sooo you might have a little trouble getting a reliable tune on it with that size injector this summer i plan on changine from my 550's 14b and safc2 to 720's 50 trim and either a dsm link or a EMS if i can save the money

hopefully that helped a little

on a side note after this post i checked out your mod list and if its up to date your no where near ready for a 50 trim, if your getting a 50 you have a bit of work to do i would look into getting rull exhaust, get a front mount, do the other things i previously mentioned and then at that point start thinking about a 50 trim

I'm at 76% duty cycle on my 650cc injectors on my 50 trim at max rpm at 20psi. Hope it'll survive 2 bar. I'm pushing the rules of thumb, but---

The general rule of thumb:

600hp: 1000cc injectors (GT40,35R,T67 etc.)
500hp: 750cc injectors (50 trim, 60-1, green, frank5)
400hp: 650cc injectors (57 trim, 20G, E316G)
350hp: 550cc injectors (14b, S16G)

im looking for no more than 350whp on my gs-t, i currently have the 550s and was wondering what turbo you guys could recommend with the stated fuel mods to reach this goal. the reason i was thinking a 50 trim was for the spool lag to get some grip before the hard pull. I plan on running around 18psi daily...

So you guys are saying that I will have to install a secondary injector in my intake pipe for me to get the full potential of a 50 trim, bc at this point I am runnning 550's.

Ummmmm....no. What we are saying is that you should take your 550s and throw them in the trash and get bigger injectors because a 50 trim requires MORE fuel than 550s can provide, unless you REALLY increase your fuel pressure with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Well thats a little harse since I just bought them or that's what my shop told me to get they even installed them, but dont worry I am not going back to that place since they blew up my engine and will not replace it so I told them were they can stick it. Anyways wouldn't it work if I place 1 or 2 secondary bigger injectors in the intake and use the secondary fuel map function of the e-manage to run them when it is required? I will have to get the harnass for the function but its only like $15 I think. But first i need to get a new engine before I can worry about my injectors

I installed my 50-trim a few mos ago using the 550s I already had. IDCs were +100% at >5500RPM on 20psi of boost (fuel pressure set at 43psi) OMG

I'm now on Denso 660s (flow ~710cc/min @43psi) and with same boost pressure have dropped max IPWs down to the low-mid 80s.

anyone else with suggestions for turbos? the 28 spools up kind of slow doesnt it? I've heard negative feedback from that turbo. Can someone tell me what advantages/disadvantages of that turbo is compared to the evoIII

first of all 550's are enough for a 50 trim...........because i have been running 20 psi on pump gas with my rc 550's , a cheap bosch adjustable fuel pressure regulator set at 34 psi , and a 255 fuel pump and an afc. And my car runs great. Now if you plan on going bigger than a 50 trim i would get 660's or something. and i have been running this setup for almost 2 years. this turbo is great for the street espesically for a gst. the evo 16g is great for some people but
it does not compare to any 50 trim person. i would never buy anything smaller then a 50 trim or a 20g. unless you want to work extra hard for some real power. and get good times not no 13 second time slips.

Yeah thats exactly what I just said. Without an increase in pressure, the 550s won't be able to spit out enough fuel. But if you INCREASE the pressure then enough fuel can flow through the 550s to be adequate. Hell with enough fuel pressure 450s would be good (need a very good fuel pump to do that probably)

Read my post above about high Inj DC% with 550s and a 50-trim. A 49lb-min compressor supports 450-500HP, a 550cc injector supports 330-350HP. Do the math.

FYI.. 34psi Base Fuel pressure is 8psi less than the OEM 2G regulator :toobad:

wellllllll i did not know that, you got me there.
damn so i dont even need a regulator thats interesting .

With the 255 pump you'd likely overrun the stock FPR and run >42psi base pressure.
If you are indeed running 34psi base, better turn it up if keeping the 550s.

Remember the old saying "you run the fastest just before you blow up" ;)

Do you even have a logger? I almost 100% sure that ou are running 100% on those injectors. you may run fine but you are no wear near the true potential of that turbo with those injector's

he said he was looking for around 350whp well if that is your goal and you think you will be happy with that then don't waste the extra money on a 50trim go out and buy an evo316g you will be happy with that but if you think once you make 350hp you will want to make more get the 50 trim and use the 550's for a while and down the road get something bigger and crank the boast up
