ok I hope this post won't get me in trouble but what mods would I need to run a 50 trim to its full potencail on my stock motor on my 2g. Instead of dsm link I think I'm gonna go with a key driver its a little cheaper...sorry about lack of search I'm on my pda and don't have that option....thanks

With a 140k should I do the head gasket?

Im assuming its the stock composite gasket. Just go by this rule of thumb. If it aint broke, dont fix it There isnt a need to replace the headgasket, its not the weak link in your setup, the stock head bolts are. You dont want to create a new hastle unless you replace it with another composite head gasket. MLS head gaskets require the block and head to be nearly flawless for a proper seal, which means more machine work. I have tons of friends putting 25-30psi through a composite head gasket and standard arp's, so you shouldnt worry too much.

I'm going to learn just not right now. Its just like the timing belt Im having a garage do that.

I had a pacesetter header before with a 20g and it lasted a 7 months and I bought it used.

im running a presicon 50 trim turbo on my 2nd gen my set up is, 255 walrbo pump,550cc injectors, safc, hard pipe injen intake, fmic, 3 inch turbo back exhaust with custom 3 inch down pipe, act 2100 clutch with newer tranny, hks ssqv bov, hard icp,and dyno tunning time. so thats just an idea

When I buy parts I sure hope they last longer than 7 months. I have no experience with Pacesetter manifolds but most reviews I see on them are negative.

Well I ended up selling the car..Hey I was reading about porting and I read that a evo 3 16g requires porting of the o2 housing for better flow or buying a evo o2 housing so if I buy a evo o2 house will my exhaust still bolt to it?

Well I read that I can use the stock o2 house from my talon and just port it for better flow is that right?

Yea thats were I read it but im unable to find the gasket to use.Slowboy Racing, Inc. :: DSM :: Exhaust :: Exhaust Components :: Exhaust Gaskets :: O2 Housing :: O2 Gasket 2G/Evo III

Can I use this one? Selecting the evo option in the drop down box of course.

sure, i would stay way from cheap parts like the pacesetter manifold. That is complete garbage and sooner or later those welds are going to crack. consider youself lucky to be one of the few to be able to use it for 7 trouble tree months.

Yea I'm so glad for this site my car would be broke by now...LOL

Can anyone let me know if that gasket will work so I can order it and start porting.......Thanks

If you have a 2g stock o2, get a 2g stock o2 gasket
If you have an evo 3 o2, get an evo 3 o2 gasket

Then how should I port it and how much Ill have to guide and when I port it wont I need a different gasket?

since all the talk about 50 trim prep... no one said anythin about tranny wise? can a stock 2g tranny act 2100 or 2600 clutch and lightened flywheel handle the 50 trim at 20 psi??? or will i need a rebuild sooner than later? sorry didnt mean to jack the thread or anythin just havent seen anytalk about tranny

The easiest way to do is clean up your o2 housing as much as you can, put the gasket against the surface and take a sharpie and trace the outline of where you need to port. This will give you exactly how much you have to port match the housing.

Many (dating back to the 25+psi 16G guys) have used a stock 2G tranny with even just a 2100 + stock flywheel. Any variation of 2100/2600/2900/stockflywheel/lightenedflywheel will yield enough clamping force to support 300whp, but that's really entirely up to the health of said drivetrain mods. If you have a crappy or worn disc, it's not going to grab like new. In terms of how far a 2g tranny can go? Well, I've spun and shifted mine with no-lift-to-shit at 8500 several times and she's finally starting to grind (132k trans).

so basically a stock 2g has been "tested" to be pretty durable as long as its been treated right? i mean i DD mine and drive like a grandma to work and back. the weekends is when i get on it:D but im lookin to put on a 50trim at 20 psi and and see where that gets me. Right now im in the process of doing arp studs/mls cometic/greddytiming belt/balance shaft eliminator/prothane mounts/act 2100/fidanza flywheel and wanted to know if its completely necessary to do a tranny rebulid just to bullet proof it ya know...
