50 trim

I was just wondering since my 50 trim turbo has a welded wastegate so its closed now 24/7, Do I have to run the waste from the manifold or can I run it from my O2 housing.

You have to run it from the mani, because you can run it from the o2 if the valve is welded closed.

You have to use an external wastegate if the flapper is welded shut.

A true turbo expert would be more help here. The clearance is really tight in that area and I wouldnt try it myself. If it is welded than I am assuming it is more effiecient as an externally wastegated turbo and the flapper is too small to work properly internally wastegated.
