It seems as if I can't shift into 4th without it popping out. It doesnt make any noise at all. To make it stay in 4th gear I have to disengage clutch super slow. Every other gear is fine, no problems there. It is a 99 GST with over 100k mil. Please help me!

My '95 GS-T pops out of gear from time-to-time. I also leak about 2 qts. of gear oil a day, so that probably has something to do with it...

(I suggest adding some fluid to your trans.)

My 99 GST started slipping out of (only) 4th unless I held it in there with my hand. Progressively got worse and worse very quickly (few weeks). It made a bang if it slipped out while accelerating. No leaks either. I had to rebuild the tranny (worn syncros and forks and 4th gear). Lots of $. Take it to a reputable tranny shop and they will test drive it and tell you for free.

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? I am just wondering if it wouldn't be better to get the stage 1 done at ShepTrans instead of going to a local trans shop and probablly spending same $$$?

And one more thing, I noticed this problem right after we had a little flood here in Florida last monday, water was reaching to a half of my car. Is that possible that water could cause mechanical damage to a tranny?
