Here’s a video of my starting it up and putting it into reverse after the tape scare (ignore the squeal from the loose alternator tensioner)

Been meaning to update this thread but haven’t gotten around to finishing the seats. Plan was to use 1”x1” square tube to bolt into the rear mm bolt holes, then weld tabs to it to use a bolt and nut for the factory 1g seats. For the front, I was gonna bend the 1g seat tabs down and weld a plate to bolt them in to the mm bolt holes. Reason I didn’t commit was because I might run evo 8 recaros insteadAny luck with the 1g seats? We're just now starting the process for this same swap!

. I mounted the tach interface by the coil pack on the RTM bracket using a thin piece of aluminum. The wiring for it was pretty straightforward and can be found below.Sorry been meaning to reply and update the thread but have been busy/sick. Anyway, the pin for the tach signal on the cluster (from the filter) is shown in the picture. On mine it’s a white wire with brown marks. Since yours isn’t fuel injected, you might have to run a wire with a ring terminal to (I think) ign-. One thing to note is that there are different clusters depending on the year. In the other picture you can see the one I’m using off a 92 sport (bottom) and an extra from a 87 (top). Besides the missing check engine light on the 87 cluster, I don’t know if any other differences exist as they both have factory tachs. I marked the pin in red for the tach signal from the filter for that picture. Also my clutch setup has not worked out so I’m gonna go ahead and order a 3g disk (2.4l) and new pressure plate. This is a great thread. Thank you for this, it's helping us out a lot.
Could you share which pin on the connector side of the cluster that the tach signal goes?
We're doing this with an auto to manual swap and it was also not fuel injected, so I don't see where on the cluster the tach wire goes. We picked up a cluster with a tach already.
Thanks and keep it coming!
