alright guys i have a 1.8 eclispe i bought a 4g63 na and i got a turbo off of a 2010 evo x and a side mountintercooler for a 1g turboed eclipse. now i have some questions. first of all would a 4g63t exhaust manifold fit on a 4g63na and will all the piping fit for the ibntercooler. because i dont wanna buy a turbo kit since i have intercooler and trubo so i was wonderign can i take the rest of the parts off of a 4g63t out of a gsx or something and would they fit and also that means i have to drop my compression from 9to1 to 7to1 correct and if so how would i go upon doing that? also do i need to change my stock 1.8 feulsystem thanks for the help post or pm thanks

A 4G63t manifold (1g, 2g, or EVO 3) will all bolt right up to the 4G63 N/A head.

The EVO X turbo will not bolt up. It faces the opposite direction and for all practical purposes, will not work.

The 1g intercooler will also bolt right up. The holes are already there, even on the non-turbo models. Also if you are using a DSM manifold and turbo the piping will work perfectly as well.

To change the compression you need to change the pistons. The non-turbo pistons do not like boost. It would be best to drop a set of forged pistons, or at least new turbo pistons, into that non-turbo block. Is it a 6-bolt or a 7 bolt?

I have done the swap before, from a 4G63 n/t to a turbo. Check out my blog to see how involved this swap is. Most people would advise you to just sell your car and buy a factory turbo model. It is definitely less work, and usually cheaper, but if you are dead set on doing it, it can be done. You just need to plan and prep before you start.

I did a full swap (engine, trans, ECU, harness, etc). You will need all of those things in addition. You can make your wiring harness work by adding a few wires; there is a tech article on this. You will need the turbo ECU though as well as the 4G63's transmission.

Hope this helps!

You will aslo need a turbo ECU and engine harness

I think I covered that. :thumb:

does the 4g63 bolt right in to the 4g37 frame?

That I do not know for sure. I have asked that question on several other threads like this but have never gotten a definite answer from someone who has done it.

I'm 95% sure that it would though. Diamond Star Motors would have kept the actual car/frame/chassis as similar as they could throughout the model and trim lines to keep cost down. I'm pretty sure that the 4G63 mounts would bolt into a car originally equipped with the 4G37. If anything you should just need both the engine and chassis sides of the mounts.

1.8 conversion to 2.0t is actually very simple.. main things you will need to make it fit are: Driverside motor mount from a 2.0t and swap the cross member off the 1.8 with one from a 2.0t then it will drop right in!Then you will need to swap the ECU out with the one for the motor you will have along with the ECU wiring harness and the CV Shafts from a 2.0t and thats about it!
Its not as hard as many say it is!
I have one.... look at my pics! Sadly i didn't get any of the being done on it but its a Talon DL (1.8L) with a Laser RS 2.0t in it!!
Freaks peoples minds sometimes.. its so awesome!

Here is a quote from another thread, a guy that has done it before. All you need to bolt it in is the 2.0 driver's side motor mount and cross member.
