Let the flame war begin! J/k It's official, though. This project begins at the start of the new year. I've been pricing and studying and buying, with just a couple of things left to go.
I know what a lot of people are going to say about this and I've heard every reason under the sun NOT to use the 420a....well, as I like to say: "Balls on that!"
Everything has been done with the 4g63 in the 2g chassis. There's nothing new anymore and no one is trying anything unique, save for Paul Volk, Mark Bullet, and Rob Montalvo.
Compound 4g63=
16:1 420a NA=
737HP 420A Turbo=
Average 275-400HP 4g63= There's 3 different guys in my neighborhood alone that own one. These are the reasons I'm building this.
I'm building this with a surprisingly large amount of stock components, too. The biggest fabrication is the new motor, trans, and rack locations. I know I said I wasn't going to share the how-to but I think that with the initial parts costing me less than $3000, other guys would be interested in turning their 420A into a Drifter or Drag Queen or just a BAMF DD.
I'll have more into my conversion than that because I'm building a spare block and head and getting MS2 and....some other things.....
ANYHOO, just wanted to drop the curtain and get it on the road for real. No more ambiguous posts hinting around at what "could be" going on. It's on like Donkey Kong.
If anybody would like to be a part of this, contact me via PM or E-mail. This is a serious life goal of mine to see this through and NOTHING will stop me from attaining it.
Big Thank to: Mark Bullet, Rob Montalvo, Paul Volk and his AWD conversion predecessors, Scott from EagleTalon.net, all_motor_mike, Travis Troyer, Jared Carter, Kyle Mavis, The Fw4g63.com Crew, and Chris Harmen for the inspiration.
