I have a 95 Eclipse N/A. I am doing a complete engine rebuild and I'm planning on going turbo with a Hahn stage IV kit. The thing is I cant afford the kit for a while but I need the the car to use as a daily driver after the end of June. The question is about my pistons. I know that a lower compression ratio is suggested for a turbo and I was planning on going with 8.8:1 Wiesco but can I put these pistons before the turbo without causing any harmful affects to my motor and/or pistons? I don't want to have to change the pistons again when I finally can afford the turbo upgrade, I understand that the car will feel "bogged" down from the lower compression(from the stock 10.5:1). So would it be safe for me to put the 8.8:1 pistons in and using it as a daily driver without damage until I can get the turbo in?

That's 1.7 points of compression, and a full point in compression is worth about 3% horsepower. Assuming your car is stock at 140 HP, it'll knock you down to about 130. Will you notice it? A bit. Will you feel like you're driving a stock geo metro or a yugo? No. It'll run fine on the street.
