Hey guys ive been reading alot about the T3 and the T-25 turbos also alot about the internals for the 420A engine. ill be honest ive got a 420A non turbo Gs edition eclipse, right now its a little....indisposed of b.c of a tire shop not putting on my tires right and then the drivers back tire goes faster then my car all together...well yea you get the picture. Now back to the main subject ive got a extra 420A im planning on building (i like doing things the hard way not the easy way) but id like to know what im getting into. should i get the T-3 Turbo and its benefits along with the fabs im gonna need to do to it. The T-25 turbo the benefits along with the fabs im gonna need to do. 420A internals (if my 4G63T buddy is correct i need forged internals with low compression) but what else is on my list? and also i understand the GSX AWD is the best (supposively) because of the fact its AWD no traction lost, but in all the years ive have worked on cars the AWD may have no traction lost but because of some of the internal workings of the AWD cars they do lose power, quickly but gain them back slowly. Ima keep mine FWD as long as i can i dont really have the money for a AWD - 4G63T conversion (um heck no haha) id rather build the 420A considering its what ive got and im going to make the best of it even if no one agrees with it all the help i can get would be very appreciated :] thanks :D

if you want a turbo'd 420 you will spend at least 3-4k on everything you need to turbo it "right" plus all the internals machine work suspension installation with what you cant do yourself. if you want to run higher boost yes you need forged internals, good cams, ported head, good valve train, udp, tuning method such as ms, exhaust system and good machinist. and im sure theres theres more im forgetting.

Your new, welcome. There is a search fucntion for this forum in the upper right hand area. check it out sometime. This forum is full of posts that have the info youll need. Like this one. Posted earlier... right on top of yours..

Were here to help, but some of us that have been around a while dont really take kindly to stupidity. To avoid falling under that label, please make sure you do some searching, and come to the forums with a well formed question, we will be way more apt to help you out.

asking, "can i turbo this", or "what kind of parts do i need" is going to get you unfavorable responses, b.c its been gone over a million times.

Read my responses in that link. Thats a little over kill for what your wanting, but, most applies.. Just because your GSX friend says so , doesn't make it so. This is a completely different ball game then what they have going on. If your willing to spend 4 K on it to turbo it, might as well spend 6k or more to make it nice and more reliable.

Low compression is for applicatiosn where you want a wide tuning window. If you go with Megasquirt, you dont need to go low compression. you can get more power out of a higher compression. Its a hand off, Wider tuning window or more power and tighter window. by window i mean room for error.

and don't get a UDP for a boosted application. Unless its an ATI, but those are 400$ and hard to justify.

I turbocharged my car the "right" way and spent about $1,500. This was years ago when parts were more expensive, too. For a basic setup, there's no reason he'll need engine work, drivetrain work, or suspension work (wtf?).

OP, please feel free to post again if you have a specific technical question. Asking for a shopping list for parts isn't appropriate. The information is already out there; you can find it with a few minutes of searching.
