ok here is what I have, I got a 97 eclipse rs with 420a nt had a bad tranny, and the wiring was cut and spliced and garbled so i just replaced the whole harness and the trans...But the harness I replaced it with just so happened to come out of a 98 rs...the ecu pins all seemed to line up...but the holding clip did not (could that be a problem) i just kinda pushed it on good...it dont clip it just kinda bulges the plug sides out...and I also have a 4 wire plug on the passenger side near the firewall that i cannot figure out where it is supposed to go, is this a wire that should have been placed somewhere and i just forgot...or is the one that just pertains to the 98....The car will start, runs rough, but that is because i believe the 1 & 4 cylinders are not firing and the alternator is not charging the battery...Any help with this plug, ecu would be greatly appreciated....Thanks

man thats bad, but of course if that years wiring harness is giving you issues try looking for one that is the same year, thats your best bet because you will keep encountering wiring issues and electrical issues and you will never know where they are coming from

Well, if you look at those links, you'll notice that there are only a few differences between the two. Unless you want to go and spend more money, I would just move the wires around.
