Alright here's the deal I bought this 93 Talon TSI awd this summer. It started life as a turbo awd, but when I obtained it the car had a n/a six bolt and a 1990 harness. So I've went about getting all the necessary parts to take it back to turbo, and now that it is all back together I'm having problems.

When I start the car up it shoots up to 4k rpms(if I hit the gas pedal it acts like it is hitting a wall and won't go past 4500, but when the idle starts to fall I can hit the gas pedal and it will shoot back up to 4k rpms) and will fall all the way down and die. I have all the vacuum lines ran properly, and so far I haven't been able to find any leaks. I'm getting a new throttle body come Tuesday to test with so hopefully that will do the job but if you have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks
Nathan

It sounds like your throttle cable is set to tight or your idle switch is set to high. Something's got to be holding the throttle plate open. I don't think its possible for it to rev that high with the throttle plate closed.

No but I did more research and I need to switch to ecu pins and the cable is adjusted properly I did that yesterday

Two ecu pins*

An update I went over to swap the two ecu pins number 6 and 14, but come to find out I'm missing the wire to the ecu for Idle switch input would that have anything to do with this issue?

By replacing the throttle body gasket I got a different response, it now starts up goes to 3k rpm and then just dies any ideas?
