3G Why new red transmission fluid is pink or like strawberry milkshake

2002 Eclipse RS automatic

I recently rebuilt engine, did not do anything with transmission or torque converter except that they were sitting under tarp for about 6 months.

In rush I forgot to clean torque converter or transmission before I put everything together and added required quarts of fluid.

I took it for test drive in neighborhood and suddenly checked the fluid its strawberry milkshake or pinkish color.

Radiator looks brand new, so I am not sure if I should be worried about broken cooler line or bypass valve inside the radiator?

What could have caused this new fluid to be pinkish or contaminated?

I don't see any transmission fluid in radiator or overflow reservoir.

Id pull tranny lines off and do pressure test on cooling system just to b sure. Make sure zero pressure drop pump up to about 16 pounds if its leaking it will drop fast. It is possible that coolants getting in. Its viscosity is diffrent then tranny fluid. If nothing drain fluid drop pan and check it out. Might of got water in it some how sitting around u never know.

I did pressure test and it does not hold 16 psi and slowly goes to 13 psi and holds it there for long time...I don't understand the interpretation. Also why do u suggest pull transmission lines off ? won't it create vacuum leak?

Pull lines off and while the car is off do pressure test. If its getting into the tranny cooler lines u will c the water leaking out. If its dropping to 13 might have leak somewhere else if not in tranny lines.
