3G DIY transmission flush or professional flush?

2002 Eclipse RS automatic

Need automatic transmission flush

Can I do it myself by using method in tear stone factory service manual under chapter 23A? or should go to shop to have it professionally done?

What is your advice?

I would drop the pan to see what the magnet looks like before I did anything. The pan doesn't lie about the condition of the internal parts. If there is excess material then a flush could actual hurt it vs help it. Just keep that in mind. Just my 2 cents!

It most likely goes unanswered because its possibly a very asked for post so if you googled it or searched the huge data base off the forum it would come up with your answer! Just like we have here, if we search for it mostly everything has been answered at least 5+ times, so maybe thats why you dont get any replys because they see your to lazy to search or buy a manual! Buy the book read it over, read it again and learn the way most of us did

And coming in our group and telling our wiseman to mind his own business is not a good idea! More so since your on a 3G chassis and not even a 1G-2G is not going to get you far or make people want to help you out. Stick to your forum or join the FB group, im sure they love helping

In all seriousness though, if you are wondering why there may be a lack of responses, perhaps you may be open to some advice.

• You may want to combine some of your questions into one thread so long as they are related.
  • You could easily combine the three threads related to your trans flush questions so it doesn't look like your creating spam.
    • What your trans fluid looks like
    • Which cooler lines are inlet/outlet
    • How to flush my trans
• When you are asking questions, show more evidence to others that you have done your due diligence in searching for your answers.
• Don't always expect an answer in the same day. Keep in mind on the other forum, you posted the new threads almost 24 hours ago on a weekend. Also, keep the number of new threads down.
• Post your questions in the correct place (or sub-forum) to ensure you are sharing your questions with the best people freely volunteering to give you the information you seek.

Now if you were asking about a 90-99 DSM (Galant love too) turbo or not, you have found the place to be. Maybe create a thread on the hangout section or local regional forum asking if any members are familiar with 3g Eclipses. To further support this, here is an excerpt taken from the following thread; Post in the correct forum, not the Newbie forum just because it's busy
