The subject states it all.. Heard from people that 3'' exhaust is too big on almost stock talons... mods just as a bigger turbo and headers.. What the is the real answer to this.. Will this give you HP or loose Hp?

You will definately gain horsepower, not matter what turbo you are running a 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust over stock will be a big upgrade.

3" is deffinetly not too big. I wouldn't go any bigger on a near stock car, but 3" is fine. I put on my 3" exhaust when I just had a bov and intake, and I felt a positive difference. It's not much because it only is exhaust, but it just allows slightly quicker spoon and a bit more power. It won't hurt

i have a bigger fuel pump.. MAYBE 550cc injectors.. don't know.. i bought myself a mess from a clueless dealer........ How exactly will a 3'' give you more hp?

ALso, i have a KKK trubo k26.. Its a german made turbo . Looked it up any1 have one of these KKK's in your cars?

instaling a 3in exhaust is most def a:thumb: thing to do. I have an A'pexi N1 exhaust 3in from turbo back still on the t-25. I love it, sounds great and plus your turbo will spool alot faster due to less restriction giving you alittle bit faster acceleration(kinda sucks for us fwd guys) and your top end will flow alot better also.

it was put real simple to me oneday on a n/a anything bigger then 2.5 wont give u anything more but on a turbo the bigger u go the more u flow so go w a 3 inch and importpower99 isnt lying his is very nice go w this and let me know how u make out

I have a 3'' downpipe and a 3'' apexi n1 3'' exhaust as we speak..... tooo quiet for me thermal sounds bad ass really wish i could afford one.

Turbos run off of exhaust gas. The better your car flows the more power you get. It will make a huge difference and don't let anyone tell you different. Especially up top. You will feel like you have a different car. And back to your original question, no 3in. is not too big.

I am surprised your car has fuel mods and no exhaust. The exhaust is the first thing should do.

well no one said this so i will. i just upgraded to a 2.5inch apexi exhaust turbo back. everyone is right 3inch is not to big and you will notice more power i sure do but...you may get boost creep just keep it in mind...you may not care if you have the fuel mods for it but im on stock injectors :( ill go from 10lbs to 15 then to 20 :( im just going to get an external wastegate :)

with doing 3" exhaust....how do you guys have yours run.....like turbo to resonator?(I live where we don't have emissions testings) then to muffler or? would just turbo back(no cat or anything) then to muffler, be way too loud?

Just wondering ppl's set ups to gauge mine..

Lol I'm not going to complain about my car...as of right now, its just stock DP straight through to where the cat used to be, then Dynomax Cat-back. And it is a decent loud...How much does that resonator restrict and quiet things down?

Not that bad its got a decent low idel. I have the Apexi n1, so if you ever heard that. Its a nice and deep tone at idle, but really wakes up at wot. I like it for the deep tone the it gives it. It helps it from crakling up at higher rpms on decleration so it dont sound like a honda.

I see a lot of people telling you what to buy here so I may as well chime in too. It all depends on where you plan on stopping with the car. I wanna say the limit number is like 325-375hp for a 2 1/2" exhaust. If you plan on putting down more power then that, then I would go with the 3". Otherwise the 2 1/2 will save you maybe 100 bucks. I think you should go with the Buschur Racing 3". My opinion is bias b/c they are they only exhaust I've ran on my race cars (04 Subaru STi, and 92 Laser). But when they're that good, why change? With the exception of a Ti exhaust, it is one of the lightest. I think they've got some of the best sound. This exhaust will out last your motorLOL Not to mention the price. It's hard to find a full 3" that cheap. go to www.buschurracing.com. You won't regret it!

I plan on doing 3", currently I'm at 2.5"...

I know when I got my ebay downpipe they had to cut the a/m tip off because it didn't bolt up to the 02 housing right.

Doesn't sound right, but if I get a 3" downpipe will it bolt up to the stock 2g o2 housing or what?
