I if put the shifter in 2nd gear, what rpm do I have to be at for it not to downshift when I go WOT?

On my 98 TSI a quick punch to WOT at 6K will downshift for a really quick spurt to 7K.

If you want to make the pull in a single gear and don't want to modify the commands from the TCU you will have to make the pull in first.

If you roll into it at about 2500, you should be able to keep it from downshifting. 3500 for sure, if you are going to tromp on it straight to WOT. On the dyno we started the test at around 3000.
