Hey Everyone,

Working on my engine connections and engine bay and need some guidance on if this is factory or just a hack job. My positive battery terminal has all these connections attached that won't even fit on a battery terminal clamp. Theres so many i can't even tighten down the wing nut. Any suggestions on how to clean this up or what type of clamp i should be looking for

Those white cables should be going to the fuse box and originate at the alternator. Trace the larger gauge alternator wire(s) and see where they go. If they go right to the battery terminal someone bypassed the alternator fuse and fuse box.

As @llxkevinxll said, someone bypassed the alt fuse for some reason. And no, none of that is factory at all.

If need be after you sort that out, you can get multi-input terminal busses with anywhere from 3 to 8+ wire inputs. Many use them for adding stereo equipment or other accessories, but I've always used them for builds as I like how clean they make things look, as well as making it easy to add in pieces or equipment.

Ok, wel thats a disappointment LOL, One thing after another but i guess thats how it goes with people hacking into these cars. anyone have a picture of how these should be routed to the fuse box to correct this issue?

Is this the input terminal you were recommending?

I attempted to look a the electrical manual for the 97-99 eclipse but unfortunately i cannot understand it for the life of me. From viewing other posts, 2 of these wires should go to the fuse box and the other 2 back to the battery terminal?

If my memory doesn't fool me, yes this sounds correct.
Note that, although it isn't IDEAL to run wires straight from the alternator to the battery... but you can. If it's a bigger alternator the previous owner may have chose to run extra lines to the battery in order to not overrun the small stock wires.

Edit: also clean your battery terminals you heathen

No that terminal is an isolated buss post. These are more I line with what I meant.

There are many different styles out there, just get what fits and works best for you.

I'd have to look at the electrical manual, but yes I believe the fuse is just between both sets of wires, while the bus bar in the fuse box distributes power from there out.

So from alt to fuse box, from other side of fuse @fuse box to battery.

Makes sense, previous owner had a sub system, full stereo system, gps etc and from speaking to the owner he said his friend did it because of all the stuff he was running in the car SMH....
