hey guys im new 2 this site i need some help with my cooling fans. i swapped the motor for a built one and ever since then ive had overheating problems due to the fans not kicking on. It i tried replacing the relays and i changed the thermostat. (BUT) whenever i unplug the temp. sensor the fans kick on. please if you know of anything let me know.

it was the sensor the fans work now thanks guys
Have you properly burped your coolant system, meaning all air is out of the system? Have you checked the resistance to confirm the sensor isn't showing subzero resistances?
 
The OP stated that when he removed the sensor's harness the fan switched on, so that tells you the relay and the PCM are working fine. Testing with paper clips isn't the best method as you can blow a fuse if you come in contact with the wrong pins.

I was looking in the service manual and it said to take the sensor off the put it in hot water and then check the resistance. Is that correct?

That's the way to fully check the sensor. I believe 96TurboGS meant to quickly check the sensor to ensure it's not open or shorted. If you check its resistance, you should measure something in the kilo-ohm range.
