So I have read 30 threads on the removal process.
I have a 98 GST, I want to get rid of the egr, because it is leaking. I have all the vac caps and block off plate. I would also like to remove my evap too, but I am not going to be able to get into the gas tank and pull/block off the charcoal canister. I have been looking at these 2 diagrams. Would I just cap the line going into the charcoal canister at the firewall?

The answer is Yes. I did not get any CELs after following the above diagrams.

Yes you can. If you get rid of the egr and the evap system jus cap them off at the firewall and call it a good deal. That's how mine was and it ran mint. I jus put little barbed fittings in the hose and on the other side of the barbed fitting (the nipple side) I jus put a plug over it.

I agree with 4G63_savage i went through the same process and haven't had any issues . These diagrams make it look a little complicated but its pretty straight forward just fallow all you evap lines and remove all emission and cap off your lines .

The charcoal canister is in the engine bay below the battery. You don't need to get into the gas tank to do anything. All I did with that line in the engine bay is put a one way valve on it so the fumes could escape below the car.

Hes got a 98..... didnt they locate the canister somewhere else? I know mine was below battery but ive heard of them being near the gas tank or in the front on different years.

GSX's are in the front, while GST's are near/in the gas tank.
Pre 98's were under the battery. I followed the diagram and I got 0 CELs, also made my car run a little better.

I Have a Couple Questions Though!
Great Info Guys:
This is like the first post I have run acrossed that explains where the charcoal canisters were located. I have a 99 gst spyder,4g63,fwd and my canister is located in the back by the gas tank.
I did the 2g emissions removal procedure that I found in the the general discussions emissions, but now my car runs like crap, it doesn't want to idle now,I have to give it lots of throttle to keep it running.I did the egr block-off plate, left all of the solenoids electrically hooked up,left the charcoal canister an hose intacked.but I did remove the purge control valves, so do i need to put a one-way valve on the hose going to the canister?
I noticed on the links above on the 4g63 vacuum reduction links that they left the wastegate soleniod hooked up..I disconnected mine is that a problem?
