Im not sure why this is but after I removed my evap and egr stuff my car idles really high. As soon as I start the car it idles at 3K. Anybody have any ideas? I have a 2gen GSX.

Did you remove that stuff properly or did you just start unbolting stuff?
I vote vacuum leak.

You only pulled vacuum lines off of the TB correct? You plugged up the open ports? How did you remove the EGR, did you put a block off plate on and RTV it?

I removed all of the lines according to the diagram that taboo has. I installed an egr block off plate aswell. Yes I capped all of the lines on the tb and intake manifold. Do you think I would need to adjust the BISS also?

You didn't touch the coolant lines right? Removing vacuum lines and capping off the ports shouldn't affect idle. Your have air entering in from something you did. I would suggest a boost leak test at the throttle body to see what happened or what you missed.

The only coolant line I touched was the one on the oil filter housing. I installed the evo3 housing and an external oil cooler. I just hooked the two lines together that were on the oil filter housing orignally.

I will check to see if I missed something on the manifold or throttle body.

So your FIAV is still hooked up (coolant lines going to TB). I would have to say to do a boost leak test as you missed something since extra air is entering the motor.

I never touched the coolant lines to the tb. I will check it out tonight and see what I can find.

I figured it out. I had all of the lines capped off but the throttle body was sticking open about an 1/8 inch. I fell like a real dork. Oh well! Thanks for your help!

I know this thread is a couple months old but im havin the same problem, hi idle. Removed the EGR, capped the lines on the TB, put a blockoff plate on, got everything back together and start it up and idles at about 2k till its warmed up and then keeps idling up and down. I've checked for leaks and theres nothing. Obviously ran fine before, not a single problem but since i removed the EGR it wont idle right....Any help?

You'll need to double check for leaks. Start at the TB and use soapy water in a a spray bottle, you should be able to hold pressure steady for at least a minute assuming your intake valves are all closed.

Ya i've done the whole soap in a bottle thing, that was my first thought, everythings good there. Played with the BISS, can get it to idle a lil lower but still idles up and down.

I found the problem, inner TB gasket got folded over somehow during install and there was a slight gap between TB and the intake manifold. Got a new gasket, and some RTV and a lil more elbow grease and its runnin great now :D. I guess when ## anxious to get stuff done, sometimes u pay for it...Good thing gaskets are cheap!

Glad to hear both are resolved. At the top bar where it lists "thread tools" select "resolved" to mark the thread as such.
