I have a 420a and removed the evap system, I caped off the throttle body and the back of the intake manifold. and now it’s rough at idle.
Sounds like it wants to shut off
Beyond 2000rpm its fine

Any Help is appreciated

still need help guys.....friend of mine said it migh be running lean?

how would i be able to check if thats the problem?

I know you dont want to hear this, but I would just re-install the EVAP system. There is no reason to take it off unless you have an all out race car or very serious build.

The EVAP system is not only for emissions, it also adds more safety to the car by capturing and burning dangerous fuel vapors. I think I know why your car is idling funny but without a DSMlink or other engine management your not going to eliminate your problems.

DSMlink is not for 420a's :beatentodeath:

To tell if your running lean you would either need a narrowband or wideband gauge. Narrowband is much cheaper but not going to be very accurate nice light show at night however. With a wideband you will be able to tell if your running lean or rich or whatever. If I was you I would put the evap back on, really no reason to take it off

If you forgot to cap on of the nipples that you pulled the evap lines off of you would have a nice little vacuum leak... which causes a rough idle. I would built a boost leak tester, and just connect it around your intake pipe where the filter goes. Then put your hand near where all the evap stuff was and feel for the air leaking out.

i actually removed everything all the lines. So only thing left is that tube that comes from the gas tank which i havent vented under the car and then i capped off the intake port and the throttle body. do u mean like check my intake filter? that its on correctly?

Nope, I was talking about the ports on your throttle body or intake manifold or where ever the vacuum lines that ran to your egr and solenoids were located.
