okay so im doing an evap removal and while i was at it i decided to do a write up, this is my first time doing an evap removal so any help would be appreciated, but i took pictures along the way. i have so far removed the evap canister, but all the lines leading into the car. im not sure what to do with them, also which solinoids i am able to remove. i am not doing an EGR delete YET but that will be down the road. right now i just wanna get these lines that were attached to the canister gone, also i already plugged the throttlebody lines going to what ever solinoid that was. im guessing im able to unplug that. i plan on leaving the gas tank pressure line hanging down, (not sure which one it is though).. here are some pix of thus far.

(sorry for the pix being sideways)
1st pic: evap canister

2nd pic: to take off the bracket there are two 12mm bolts one on the otherside of my hand also

3rd: unplug the headlight ;)

4th unplug the connector on the bottom left side of the canister

5th: pull off the 2 hard lines from the evap canister

6th: im not even sure which line is which, but i am told one of these needs to be plugged at the source and one left to atmosphere (i think one of these leads to the fule tank someone correct me though please)

then its out! next im not sure where to trace everything back to the source to plug off stuff. this is kind of where i am stuck and help is appreciated.

7th pic: im prettty sure these are the lines needed to be plugged on the throttlebody. so i did that. (hope im right)

8th im not sure if where i am pointing needs removed, i think thats apart of the EGR (correct me please) im not sure if these need capping off or if i am good to go already.

9th pic, im sure this is the solinoid i need to unplug and delete. (which solinoid is this?)

this is where i have stopped and dont really know how much farther i need to go or what to do next. help is appreciated.

If your the one doing the write up you should know what your doing well enough to do a complete and helpful write up, dont start, and have other people guess around and finish it for you. As far as finishing the write up, im confused to where your at in the removal. Which lines are you talking about?

Have you taken a look at these diagrams?

i am doing a write up WHILE THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ODING THIS REMOVAL so i was asking for help. thats y the title says evap removal help/writeup... so any one doing this same thing can have good information. so no im not an expert at this.. i have goen as far as having the evap canister COMPLETELY removed.. and i have plugged the throttlebody nipples... now, i have no clue if there is anything else that needs to be plugged. i know there are hard lines in the pix and other things that need capping off that i ahve not done yet.. i need help from there to the end. so like i said. canister is removed (as you can see in pix) and the throttle body nipples are plugged. NOTHING ELSE HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT and i need to know what solinoids and lines need to be removed from the manifold, i cant trace the hard pipe all the way back so id like some info if someone has done this before. its just no one else has done a write up so i thought if i could do it and have help along the way i could help other people.

also, like stated. i do NOT have the EGR block off plate so i DO NOT want to remove the EGR... YET but i plan to when i swap manifolds. just need these damn hard pipes ripped out and anything that has to do with EVAP, all lines have been left in place, awaiting instruction for what needs removal... i dont know exactally what all the EGR is connected to and i dont want to accidently #### up the EGR, just trying to get evap out only. those diagrams for the 2g look like they are with the EGR removed.. so yes i get that IF that is removed the only vaccume lines you have are your BOV and FPR but i have a little more then that cause of EGR. help appreciated.

How long did it take you to get the evap canister out? I want to do the same thing i just have to make sure i have enough time between work and school.

canister itself took 10 minutes... the rest of the shit i still havent figured out... the solinoid on the firewall i just ripped out and it doesnt seem to affect startup at all.. i plugged the big intake hose port on the manifold so i think now the only vaccume lines i have that are hooked up are the FPR, the BOV, and the PCV.. and the EGR.. everything on the top of the manifold except for the hose in the back was plugged. still trying to figure out where the purge solinoid is and wihere the hell these hard pipes lead to. seems like they go from the evap canister under the radiator up the passenger side by the fuse box and back around by the EGR... but im not positive. i cant see everything.. is this all that needs to be removed? i think i found the purge solinoid sort of next to the fule rail on the bottom of the manifold. there are hard lines going from driver side of the manifold to right next to the throttle body, i am going to rip these out.

in picture 9 (bottom left) my finger is pointing to the bigger vaccume line that i unplugged, the one next to my finger is the one you cap off on the manifold, rip out the solinoid in pic 10, but i havent figured out where all the lines go to from that solinoid down into the engine bay.

alright, so i just put in my new 6 bolt motor and took out all the Evap and EGR stuff. looks like the fule line everyone is saying to cap off, you can run a line down to the ground and just have it hang there, its on the back left side of the firewall tword the bottom. lines running form EVAP to the passenger side of the front bumper up the passengerside by the fuzebox, under the battery platform can all be removed. :)

I put a breather filter on the fuel line. Keeps the crap from going into it.

perfect timing for this thread :) was hoping to figure out what you're supposed to do with the vaccum line that runs from the canister to the intake pipe?

pull the line and plug the intake hole.
this is essentially what the whole evap system looks like outside the car, i tried to mock it up so it layed similar to how it is in the car. first pic the big hose, is the one that attaches to the firewall that goes to the fule line.

pic 2 you get the general idea of how it sits in your car. the kind of bent part on what would be the passenger side is suposed to shwo you where the lines travel up the wheel well by the fuzebox and travel behind the battery.

the only thing missing from the evap system that is not shown here is the hard lines and solinoid that travel behind the coil pack on the inside curve of the intake manifold.

I wouldn't plug the line that runs to the tank. I did this on my 1g when i did my emission's removal. One day i was driving and my o2 voltage stated i was running super lean. Looked for vac. leak's. Checked my egr block off plate. It ended up that line being plugged created some monster vapor lock. I'd just run a hose down or put a filter on the existing hose
