Hey guys, hope u can help me with this problem.

I took my 2gb to an alarm shop to have the door locks and buttons and switches working. They did a good job and told me that in driver side door there is a cable switch that goes on the cylinder key (part number MB927494) thats not there!!! so thats why only passenger door locks and unlocks the 2 doors but drivers door do nothing, not even turn the stock alarm on...
ok i bought it (actually i nought the cylinder and the switch by mistake and came with 2 keys) and took the cable switch and put it in the door, and now my driver s door does activate the alarm and close the passenger side BUT...... when i unlock the door with the key it doesnt open the passenger side door. To be honest thats was the main reason i bought it, i had another alarm working in parallel so, i just wanted to be able to open driver and subsequent passenger door with the turn of the key in the cylinder... i checked for the cable if it was properly tight onto the socket, maybe i putted wrong... but no...

Does anyone have any ideas?? Im not electrician not mechanic i just read i follow u, please help me on thiS!!!

here are some pics

Forgot to ask, since i got by mistake a new cylinder lock and work so much better than the one have on (obviously those 14 years of use...) if i can somehow change the combination to use it with my keys and put it instead, because if i use it as it is i will have diferent keys for diferent doors and that would be crazy...

I have the OEM alarm on my 99 GSX.

When I press the unlock button, it just opens the driver's door. The passenger door stays locked. If i press the lock button, it locks both. I could also just press the switch on the door itself. The alarm works fine and it is really LOUD if I try to unlock a door without deactivating it first.

Seems to me that Mitsubishi made it this way to prevent theft and unauthorized entry.

Could be that you have reverse polarity or a short in wiring. Maybe the aftermarket alarm that you have is interfering with the OEM one?

What do you mean by reverse polarity? if it was a short in wiring it wouldnt even work when i close it with the key.
The thing is with th ebuttons it works always also with that plastic manual switch u say I mean it close and open both ways also passenger doors button close and opens drivers door. I guess since they are two doors car it should be like this, the problem is when i use the cylinder lock with the key, passenger side activates alarm and close/open driver door but if i use the key in the driver door itt does activate alarm and close the passenger door once but it does not open again...

aftermarket alarm is working in parallel it does not interfere with oem alarm, if i close the doors with the key and then try to open with aftermarket remote control alarm it triggers stock alarm... and vice versa

Please!! any clue??? someone????.....

BUT...... when i unlock the door with the key it doesnt open the passenger side door.
With power locks on the 2g, when the car is locked and you now unlock the drivers door it is supposed to only unlock the drivers door (in case you don't want someone getting into your car on the passenger side). If you turn the key again to the unlock position it will then also unlock the passenger door. This is the way it is designed (says so right in the owners manual) and my 99 car works exactly that way.

+ 1. The same thing is usually said for the remotes. Usually you hit unlock once and the drivers door will unlock, then when you hit it again (twice) it will unlock the passenger door(s). Then locking it is usually as simple as just hitting the lock button once.

I will try that, but are you aware that if you try to unlock the doors trhough the passenger door side with the key, IT DOES open the drivers side aswell???

So 1 turn for unlock driver door and stock alarm and a second turn for passenger right?

As you can see in the pictures in notice i have a black and a black/white cable cutted... does anyone know if hose are stock cables? or maybe is for an aftermarket something... because my entire module of buttons works so i dont know what has been disable trhough those cables.

And does somebody know if our cars comes with a light inside the module to enlight the letters and the draw of the door in the module? ive seen a module for the gauges that someone pointed to enlight that.... but im not sure how
