My current wiring harness has been really messed up from the previous owner, wires cut and mixed together and everything, MY interior lights don't work at all including my gauges.....

I have a 5 speed TSI....
I found an AUTOMATIC gst......

Do the harnesses differ in anyway from automatic vs manual?

Does the complete under dash wiring harness go into the engine?

Thanks

Alright, so in general most interior sensors, switches, & etc will be the same as every other car. What will be different is transmission/drivetrain sensors, and options that the other car may have not had or vise verse. You try to put together your harness and the other, but you may run into problems. What I would find as stated would be a (manual wiring harness) if what you are doing it trying to swap the whole thing. If NOT, them you should be good to go and replace the (upper dash wiring harness) and continue on.
