Resolved 2G tranny swap into a 1G? help needed

i have a 2nd gen 92 eagle talon. my tranny just pooched it was a 5 speed standard. my talon is non turbo and front wheel drive. i was wondering if a 5 speed tranny *FWD would swap from a 95 talon to a 92 talon. i was told it MIGHT but the tranny mounts are different. can any one shine some light on this for me. that would be awesome thanks guys

If the 2G is a non-turbo (420A), then absolutely not.

It swaps, but the results seem to be hit or miss. The large difference between the two transmissions is that in a 2G, there are three mounts going to the transmission and only one to the engine. On a 1G, it is the exact opposite with three mounts going to the engine and only one to the transmission. Performing the swap in question means the setup will be just like a 1G, utilizing only the passenger side transmission mount on the 2G transmission and keeping the other three (on the engine) the same.

I would think you will also need a FWD turbo flywheel as a 1G turbo transmission would not utilize the non-turbo flywheel currently in your car either. Best of luck.
