I would like to know if someone ever did this modification and I would like to know if it is rather easy or difficults. Also if someone has photos of what it looks like.

I have a 2G ESI Talon with this bumper

I would like to see what it would look like without these:

Can the ones on the rear bumper be shaved or cut or I would have to cut the top of the bumper and connect to the upper of the other model of bumper

But with the same front bumper

Also without the spoiler and antena.

(I wonder if thre car would look too naked thought?)

Thank you

The side stakes come off they are sticky taped/have clips holding them on. The spoiler also comes off by unbolting it. Now for the rear bumper it would be waaaaay easier to just get a talon 2ga rear bumper. The 2ga's don't have the stakes molded in them. Google search a 2ga talon and it will give you an idea of what yours will look like.

Thank you Dsmspick I know about the other model of rear bumper but the lower part of it is not the same (the one without stakes on the side) the lower part is different.

You can see on the bottom photo the difference between the 2 bumpers. Like I said I wonder if it would like nice, most probably but I stil wonder if someone tryed this combinaision. My next question is which Oem side skirt would look the best wtih this (front bumper with the side stakes, no molding on the doors and no stakes on the rear bumper but with bottom as it is?

Any ideas?

It may not look too bad but would be a lot cheaper to just run the 2ga. Now as far as side skirts go the 2ga turbo "twisty" skirts look the best. Best combo I think is 2gb bumper (you have), 2ga twisty side skirts, and 2gb bumper (you have). I'm sure you can find pictures of it somewhere. It looks sooo damn good, pure sex!
Also what you have 2gb is more rare.

When you say Twisty do you talk about these

But the bottom of this bumper is so nice, looks like diffusers and the beauty of it, it's OEM

Well if u want to delete the bumps on the bumper , then you roughly have two options . Studie up on body work or sub it out to someone that does. Also if the side stakes were on your car and u take them off watch out they like to crack if your not carefull . Also they have plastic retainers along with two way tape, so when you remove them u will have holes were the clips use to be.

If they can't be sanded down or off, which I'm assuming is the case since I've never seen one in person, it will be tons of work. You will have to cut them out and fiberglass where they used to be, your best bet is going to be fiberglass in my opinion.

You also need to figure out how to keep the bumper in original shape after cutting them out because it'll most likely be flimsy.

Don't be discouraged. If you REALLY want to do it then go for it! I think it will look clean if done correctly.

Actually the bumper bumps are raised on the facing side and dented on the back side. They could be filled in on the backside and then ground down on the facing side , with no or litlle distortions.

My only concern is that filler being used almost structurally, it is only designed for molding on damaged areas. Even fiberglass filler wouldn't hold. If you filled the back, ground the front, and then used fiberglass across the filled area that could work.

Ok filler was a lose word .glass mat the inside then smooth out the surface.

The material that the bumper is made of is more flexible than fiberglass, so if 'glass is used it will most likely separate from the bumper.

To get around that cut the "bumps" out so now you have two slots. Take a spare/junk bumper made of same material and cut out flat pieces same shape as slots. Either plastic-weld or glue in (using special bumper repair adhesives) the pieces into the slots. Sand the seams flush. After primer/paint it will look like nothing was done to the bumper since it is now one piece again.

The bumper repair adhesive is pricey (around $30-$40 for a small set) but after setting up it is as, if not more, strong as the bumper itself. Usually comes in two parts that need to be mixed together.

Best answer so far. I do this kind of stuff every day. The glue I use is 3m 8115. It's a 2 part glue requiring a special gun to dispurse the glue. Fiberglass will just crack out. Find an old bumber cover try to get a 2g Dsm to get as close to same material as possible.

I have a idea, I dont know if it would work. What if I get the bumper model that has no bumps (ie stakes) cut the top and fit (glue it or use wathever technic is the best to do) it to the lower part of my actual bumper?
