2g map sensor help

if i let the 2g map sensor hang below my intake manifold will it cause my car to run crappy. what does the map sensor acutlly do. reason being is when i installed my magnus manifold i no longer was able to use it on the manifold. thanks jim

On tot he question.

It is only for a limp mode. If something happens to your MAF then it will get the reading from the MAP. You dont need it but from my understanding it still needs to be plugged in or you will get a CEL

If not connected to vacuum, the MAP (actually, "MDP") sensor *can* cause a P0400 MIL. Best to keep connected if possible.
