1G 2G MAF Swap on 1G But Which Intake?

Been looking for a answer and haven't been able to find one. So I have a Evo III 16g with 650cc injectors, fpr, fmic, walbro 255 and getting dsmlink lite soon. The question is to do the 2g maf swap what kind of intake pipe can you use? Was thinking of going SD but seems too hard for a beginner to use with dsmlink. And will a 2g intake pipe work on the 1g? Doesn't say anything about it in the vfaq just reusing the stock one with the 2g maf converted to fit. Any info/pics would be beneficial
 
An ebay 2g intake pipe will fit on a 1g car with a short route fmic. It will not fit however with a long route fmic or stock piping. The 2g intake pipe is a rather tight fit in a 1g. The filter will be touching the fender wall. So it needs all the room it can get in that area.

Edit:Here is a link with photos. Post #6. Actually somehow they were able to make it work with the stock location IC piping. Didnt think that was possible, its looks rather tight, but i guess it works regardless.

Dejon intake probably your best bet. I have tried the 2g Injen style and its just too long. You can make it work but have no room left for a decent size filter. I tried with the stock intercooler piping and couldn't fit a filter.
 
Thanks for the replies, I found the intake I need now just gotta cough up the $220 bucks for it. Going to get the CIP-1gS from Dejon

Man you could set up Jackal and have a full tuner for less then that. Thats assuming you have an eprom ecu.

I have a socketed ecu and was going to go dsmlink because of the tech support and I have no idea how to use jackal. Wanted to get the 2g maf because they say it flows more air then the 1g maf.

Jackal really couldnt be any easier. Being that it is made to be used ONLY with SD on a 1g, it really cuts out most of the non sense.

With SD you can get rid of any pre-turbo restrictions(maf) and use a cheap intake pipe like this one for $18 if you wanted to.

Since you have an eprom you could pick up an ostrich 2.0 with sensor for $100 on craigslist or the classifieds. Really not much cost involved in it.
