2G MAF Hack?

On a 2g you don't want to do it. It's not as good of a mod as it is on a 1G.
 
I tried it once. I didn't care for it. I got it running right, but had to richen my AFC settings more than I liked. In your cars profile I didn't see any fuel control. If you try this without it you car will run like crap.
 
The problem with hacking the MAS is that at various airflow velocities the airflow meter will read differently. When air travels slow such as at idle, it has plenty of time to take the path of least resistance, IE, the hacked portion. At WOT however, the air is moving too quickly to allow as much air to take the harsh turn into the unmetered portion, so the airflow correction from factory is different. This causes the Safc to not be able to correctly dial it in as it isnt a set compensation, but rather a change that happens across the airflow band.
 
I just purchased my 2g maf. Is it true im gonna need a SAFC to compensate for the higher airflow? Would i also need to upgrade the fuel system?
 
DONT EVEN TRY IT... ITS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.

and if you do decide to try it make sure you dont mess up those honeycombs or you will be scouring every junkyard you can think of for them. !

Store it safely in the closet until you have larger injectors, safc, logger, fuel pump and afpr, install them as one mod.
 
only hack your 2g maf if you are running close to 2600 hz or 50lbs a min airflow (and to do this you have to be tuned right with a good sized turbo) so in your case Dont do it...
