A version of DSMLink specifically for the 1st generation DSMs is in the pipeline. We just haven't had time to do anything with it lately. We'll be sure to post something about it on the homepage as soon as we have one running, we promise. We hope you understand that this is a common question submitted to us by e-mail...the more e-mail we gotta answer, the less time we have for anything else. As SOON as we have an estimate on availability, you can bet this site will be updated accordingly"
that was taken from the dsmlink website. i hope they get this done soon.

I'd asked TDorris previously on their 1G development and seemed (at least to me) that any hope of a 1G DSMLink left the building when "clones" of their 2G versions started comming out.

Business decision on their part.. but opens the door to other resources (notably Jeff O and Mike Licht) to put something out that may/may not be an equal.

My money goes in support of those who are developing.. not copying others efforts :dsm:

You can use a tuning system to make small changes on the fly, if that's what you want to do.

This still allows you to run timing maps with the curves you want, different idle speed, remove fuel cut, do injector compensation, and much more.

hi, kpt4321 are you running just started reading this post and am curious is are you tuning your ecu with dsmlink or a freware program. When i had a Honda crx, i used this freeware program http://www.ghettodyne.com/ that let me use the dsm 450ccs and had launch control read boost up to around 10psi maby that helps, im going to reaserch this and see just how far the the yahoo group got and maby email the guy who wrote gettodyne see if he can help,

this is his latest work www.zcontrol.net
and this is intresting too

there are quite a few hack programs for the honda crowd.
has anyone asked them or checked out certain forums for idea's?

theres uberdata, hondata(commercial one) , ghettodyne, turboedit etc. :)

heres an uberdata link.. check it out :)

http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata/

Get on ECImulti.org, the people there are all working for you, and they are aware of PGMFI.org, which is the Honda ECM hacking forum.

thanks was just there. the guy who started doing it sold his dsm so he stopped but looks like nate might be working on something

Right on. I'm very hopeful that some of those guys can get something working.

I'm just hacking straight ECU code, it's not fun.:thumbdown

i hope they can get something.
im surprised . compared to the honda crowd dsm's dont have much for tuning.

I'm not. They've been around much longer, are a near-homogeneous product and outnumber the aging DSM fleet by a huge#.

Hondas may have a larger tuning industry.. but to quote the junkyard-guy when I tried to bargain my totaled 1980 Tercels worth... "Son.. try as you may.. you just can't polish a turd" ;)

we dont need to turn this into a honda vs dsm thing because a honda isnt any more of a turd then a dsm is.(yeah I own both)

im talking free tuning software etc. im sure whoever is doing this can ask for some help from soem honda guys who ahve done it.
we are all automotive enthusiasts(well most that are involved into something like this...hacking the system)

I'm going to start messing with the ECU code some starting next month myself... The goal is to not have to use any piggy back except the MAFT which can't be gotten around if you want to use a GM MAF...

Stick with a burner that uses a USB port, they should be much more reliable.

Mine uses a parallel port, and it's a pain in the ass. It will throw errors fairly often, and I have to burn chips several times fairly often.

That's exactly how my car is right now.

It runs just like stock, only with an extra 100 horsepower. Hell, I'd go so far as to say it runs better than stock.

Here is a good place to get a decetly priced EPROM burner. The Flash-N-Burn is what I have and it is very very fast and can be used on a variety of different EPROMS. For $85 I don't think you'll find a better one...

Well I thought everyone knew what chips to use... the AT29C256 is the chip to use... Its ereaseable so you don't have to have a hugh stack of chips just to tune your car... The chips are also available through Motes.net where I linked to the Burner. This is the Guy who wrote the TurnerCat and TunerPro program from the LT1's and just about all Chevy's with 350's. I talked with him not to long ago and he said he and a few others are working on some software to cover a hugh variety's of cars.. DSM included... Personally I don't think writing the code by hand is all that teriable... Just you can't cut and paste your Timing tables and Fuel Maps from say excell so you kind of have a lot to kept track of as you write all that in.. I'm still looking around for a 1G EPROM ECU... I had crossed my fingers that mine was a EPROM but when I finally looked at it I saw no EPROM and had that big ugly Memory Controler in it's place... :( If anyone know's someone who has a 1G EPROM ECU for sale let me know.

KPT4321 are you Kyle T. on the dsm-ecu board? If so have you got your new Turbo yet? I'm going with the Studderbox with 5 degrees of timing... I would like to have like 20 PSI to launch with once My dogmission gets here... :)

I'm Interested in your ecu. I am doing a turbo upgrade and I'm in need of a turbo eprom ecu. As soon as I have one in hand my 94 NT eprom ecu will be up for sale.

Yes you can, that's how I do it.

Yes, that is me.

No new turbo, I'm too poor.
