Fuel leaking from here noticed gas smell, something leaking and smoking here between manifold and turbo...no gasket visible from previous owner but it seemed ok when I bought the car. Maybe I didn’t notice it

I think if it were gas you would be on fire by now L O L jk. Its probably a rich mixture that youre smelling from a possible bad exhaust/turbo gasket.

Do a compression and leakdown test. This was my intake valves fully closed. Compression was 90psi and I could smell fuel when I changed the oil. Valves were out of round and I believe it was from when the timing belt broke at one point in it’s life.
