I searched around for the answer and couldn't find it, so here goes: I'm wondering if GSX 2 pot calipers will bolt in place of the stock 1 pot GSt calipers...

I'm considering the AEM big rotor up-grade kit for my car... could I simply bolt on GSX calipers onto the conversion brackets? I think with the 10.75" drilled, slotted rotors and gsx calipers that would be a very good upgrade, considering I have the factory little gst stuff up front now.. and also the AEM rotors look way trick!

my rotors are warped so I need to replace them, I figured an upgrade would be the thing to do...

there are tons of threads on this; I'm surprised you didn't find anything. anyhoo, you need AWD rotors, calipers, pads, and mounting brackets but it's basically a bolt-on affair. Here's a pic of them on my car.

If you want to use the dual piston calipers on a FWD with the AEM kit, then you'll need the AWD kit...

Screw the AEM kit. They are overpriced crap.

See above for the upgraded parts and comment. If you want really good brakes go for BAER or the TCE kit.

I htink the only problem u might run into is that if ur going form 2g calipers on a 1g. i think there is some banjo bolt or osmething not ont he 1gs and it has to be converted, Dont hold me to this but anyway for you...

pick up all the stuff he j ust said and if ur really sneaky. put on some gsx front rotors too.

is there a source for 2g GSX front brake caliper brackets anywhere? None of the parts stores here have them... :( and no luck at all the junkyards I called. :thumbdown

just the bracket? good luck because I've never seen any place sell them separately.

For the slow folks out there, the GST (TSi) calipers are on the left and the GSX (TSi AWD) are on the right. :D

I would have to say that the actual stopping distance redection would be 8-10 ft. The real advantage is not having to worry about friggin' brake fade and much more consistant breaking.

I've heard the gsx calipers are available at parts stores such as autozone, napa, etc. does anyone know if these calipers would usually include the brackets?

the only way you will get them from advance auto or autozone is to buy them "loaded", meaning that you'll end up paying for the caliper, bracket and pads, but you'll have to pay the core charge cause they won't take your old stockers. you can go here

http://www.msrecycling.com

and order a set from them, they have really reasonable prices on their stuff and gurantee them to work.

i found that website about 3 years ago in the sport compact mag in the back. It was awesome. they charge like 250 for the complete rear caliper setup......everything, hub, calipers, brackets...pretty much everything for the RS owners to charge their drums to disk.

I know this is an old thread and didnt want to start a new one. I'm in the process of the gst to gsx conversion brake system. I have all new parts

front and rear GSX oem calipers
front and rear GSX brake pads
front and rear GSX rotors
front and rear GSX ss brake lines

I still have to pickup the brake fluid

Is there anything else I need?

Thanks
