Hey guys
I have a 95 tsi with an EPROM ECU. One of my buddys with a 1g just chipped his ECU with TunerPro. Does anyone know if you can do this to a 2g. I want DSMLink but for right now this would be a much more cost effective way to go. I already have access to a chip burner and what not. Let me know if anyone has done this or if it can be done. thanks

My advice is get dsmlink of course. but for now try an afc if your looking for a budget tune. people are making 400+ WHP with an afc and pocketlogger... or better yet, Pocketlogger ZT. Thats the palm version of the Zeitronix wideband o2 sensor software. It samples some crazy ass 60 samples per second on my Palm M100 ($20 used). But once you get the link you really tie it all together. In my experience the mid throttle tuning with an afc cannot compare to even a baseline tune with DSMLINK.

Chips are available for 2G's that have an eprom ecu.

Do you know what the part number is on the chips for the 2g. (not the brand specific PN just the actual blank chip that you use.) Is it the same as the 1g just with a different program on it. The chip my buddy burned has phantom knock removal, stutter box, no lift to shift and a ton of other stuff and all it cost him was some time and a blank chip worth very little.

So I have an EPROM ECU as I stated in post 1.

Anyway, my chip is a plastic 27C512 which is a non reburnable chip (one-time programmable). A 29C512 can be burned as many times as you like. So all I need to do now is find a program to burn a chip with like Tunerpro or something and to socket my board which I will get a local electronics place to do. Does anyone know of a program like TunerPro for 2G's?
thanks guys
