i am having trouble with the crank sprocket bolt. i have tried everything i can think of heating it, air impact, i even got a tool i have had for years but that didn't work. i have also read other forums that people have posted and i did try what they did. i am stuck. anybody got any ideas? i would like to know. thanks

i finnaly got it of thanks everyone. i heated more with a propane torch. then pried on it little by little and worked my way around the edges.
Some people have luck taking a breaker bar, rotating the engine clockwise until the breaker bar is kind of snug to the frame rail. Then quickly blip the starter. This will turn the engine over keeping that bolt still hopefully breaking it loose. Remember to not crank the engine over, just blip it long enough to turn it.

Only thing you really can do, depending on if you have the oil pan out or not is get a heavy duty impact, soak the bolt in some pb blaster for a few hours then come back, heat it up with a torch and while its still hot hit it with the impact.

Otherwise, if the pan is off you can wedge something between the block and crankshaft and find a really big cheater bar. Or, if a large breaker bar/cheater bar cannot be had maybe try a large cresset wrench AND a impact. Just throwing out ideas.

my crank sprocket is stuck. i have tried everything possible i think of. i have also tried other ways to do this. just will not work or come off. if you have any ideas that can help i will sure try them. thanks

If you push the key in slightly it should stop jamming. However, they do make crank pulley removal tools for this purpose as well, such as 3 jaw gear pullers.

Also could try 2 men with crow bars.

The crank pulley just sits on top of the timing belt sprocket. It is rust frozen. Just take a hammer and tap around the edge (don't break the belt guide ridge) an it will work loose.

i sprayed it with wd-40 last night and im going to try and wiggle it off. but if not im going to heat it and i cant find the puller. but my friends bringing one to me today.

yea i have heated the sprocket and tapped on it with a mallet and nothing still. i also tried to move that key a bit and tapped it and nothing. im stock till my friend gets here later with a puller.
