To start out - I am not mechanically inclined as I'd like to be - but I do body work so I have some idea as far as what's what..

I got this 98 for 300 bucks from a buddy who was recently deployed in afghan and learning all I can about the car as I'm fining it out myself..

I was driving on the freeway today and went to shift from 3rd to 4th and it wouldn't go into gear.. And thought that's wierd.. Went to put it into 5th - wouldn't go into gear.. So I tried 3rd and still nothing..

So after a long push down the off ramp and up a incline to a parking lot.. Started doing some google researching and it all points to the clutch

Now I JUST had this motor, tranny, clutch looked at and saw the clutch needed a rebuild because the TO was going out - took it to a tranny and clutch shop and they told me it was a neon stock clutch.. The motor is a 420a but te head I'm not sure what it is.. And the tranny is stamped nv-t350

So the whole clutch assembly has been done and I don't have 48 hours of drive time on this clutch..

Fluids are tipped off - haven't checked tranny fluid as there is suppose to be a bolt to remove to find out if its leveled or not?

There is no kind of leak inside under the pedals - so I know it's not the master cylinder..

I can engage the gears when the car is off.. But when it's on I can't get the car into gear with or without pushing in the clutch.. It will however move forward when I try to go into 1st or 2nd as if I am just starting to let off the clutch

I have tried pumping the clutch pedal hoping it was some air in the line but that did not solve it either?

But prior to this - car ran great! Shifted up and down in all gears no problems.. Just randomly happened today

I have looked at similar threads but everyone's situation is different then mine and can't post in the proper thread due to being new :)

Any help would be awesome

You may need to have the clutch readjusted. if the clutch is not adjusted properly if will not disengage. Is this an aftermarket master and slave? Check for clutch drag as well . Push the clutch all the way to the floor and roll on the gas almost to redline if the car moves then you have clutch drag. Meaning the clutch doesnt successfully engage or disengage. so shifting will be a mess. if it doesnt then you have more investigating to do .
