New VFAQ- when you do your front stainless lines- do rear ones too- the old lines end up flexing and bursting, since the nice steel ones at the front no longer flex. The old rear brake lines were ok during our 100+mph trip up from Chicago. The line just went on that pass. My brakes went- and I took it out of gear and pulled the E-brake- car kept moving- then it started to move to the side (E-brake probably locked or one caliper seized out back) I won't say it is bad luck, because I am still alive. I am just glad the car wasn't running right on that pass, because, like people said, if it was running right, I probably wouldn't be alive to type this. I should've downshifted instead of just throwing it in neutral and pulling the E-Brake- could've, should've would've- didn't. I am thankful to GOD that I am alive, and thankful to Leon and all the other DSMers who braced the car to keep it from falling back down. The track staff, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, CAT scan/MRI people were all freaking awesome. OHIO is such a friendly place, and DSMers are such good people. Now I am just planning on how to bring her back to Chicago so I can decommission her and move all the salvagable parts to a new chassis- once again a phoenix will rise from the ashes
GOD is good. The ER and trauma docs, after an hour plus of scans and tests in rings and tubes and xray rooms, explained that they had no explaination how I am alive or not paralized. In fact, short of a cut on my tounge, I had no scratches on me. I said I have an explanation, GOD. The head Dr. agreed, saying that, in his medical opinion, it is a miracle. Once again, Mitsubishi cars and Mitsubishi enthusiasts have exhibited grace under extreme presssure. I cannot express in words how greatful I am that Leon (OG DSMer) and a couple of other racers ran over and braced my car.. it was explained to me later, that if it had rolled one more time, due to where my head was, my neck would have snapped. I am typing this from my laptop, which was in the car.. laptop, phone, camera- all found by track staff, paramedics, and other DSMers. All work. I need some follow up tests/visits with my doctor, but feel (physicall at least) fine. They say I will be sore once the stuff from the IV and the adrenaline wear off tomorrow, though.

I think you'll have her back home this weekend. Are you the little skinny guy who crushed the beer and sprayed me?
I have tried for the last 8 yrs to make it to a shootout. But being in the military kinda stopped it before, but not this year!!! I had a great time at the shootout. I am apart of the shop that had 2 cars in the finals, Strictly Modified, for Evo Eliminator and DSA. With our guy Chris Vance winning DSA!!!! Congrats to Chris and Mirjan for a great showing at the shootout! Thanks to Dave Buschur and his dedicated crew for a great event. Al from dynoflash, thanks for being cool as hell, when are you comin to shaumburg, illinois bro?

I have a pic of your final.
Nice job taking home the win!
I was right next to you in room 135 and saw that. His reply was "that was a full one".
It was that little guy with the funky ### ass rainbow shoes and the knee-hi socks. I was surprised you didn't do anything.

Fotowntalon, You did meet someone from the forums, me! I'm the one who took out your silencer, and I'm gald you did so well and had a good time...
Thanks!!
I want to check that out!!! When can you upload it?
I 100% agree with the parking lot organizing thing. I was so tired from walking back and forth trying to sift through all the shity family cars. I'm trying to see DSMs and EVO's damit

Here is a link to some of the photo's that I took.

Keith,
Glad you are alright man. Craig and I picked your car up today and she's pretty ####ed up. I think they exhaust is in good shape though.I think you'll have her back home this weekend.
I had an awesome time as always. For my self the entire weekend came together fantastic and closed out with a bang about 5am this morning. Can't wait to see everyone next year!
Keith, We wern't there this year but we met you last year. I'm sorry to hear what happened, but glad to hear that you are OK. Someone was looking over you.
Keith,
I was one of the three guys who got to you right after you rolled your race car. I was the guy who called your mom and girlfriend for you. I am very glad that you were not injured in the wreck. With that thing laying on its side with the wheels smashed under it- I feared a fire. I'm glad we got you to turn the ignition off!!! Thankfully you are still alive! It was very good to see you up and walking/talking later that same day. You may have nine lives my friend.

Okay here is an oldie but a goodie...Just so the new guys know where David Buschur came from. This is a pic from about a decade ago when David broke the 9, 8 and 7 second marks with his 2g Talon. This car ran a best of 7.81 back in 2001.
Im not sure why he ever sold this car and switched over to Evo's The yellow DSM was Faster than any EVO he built so far. Those were the good ole days.
j/kIf memory serves, he sold it after putting it into a wall.Im not sure why he ever sold this car and switched over to Evo's The yellow DSM was Faster than any EVO he built so far. Those were the good ole days.
Not to nit pick but when you run 7.81 you broke the 8 sec barrier not the 7 sec barrier. It's ok "new guy"j/k
He was in the 7's with it. He was the first to do that with a DSM, so that guys like you could BUY all the same parts he tested out first. So you can TRY to hit 9's without much effort other than buying some parts and putting them on.
You know what I meant...Clearly you ARE nit pickingHe was in the 7's with it. He was the first to do that with a DSM, so that guys like you could BUY all the same parts he tested out first. So you can TRY to hit 9's without much effort other than buying some parts and putting them on.
Anyone can take some money and copy someone's good setup....it takes skill to MAKE YOUR OWN setup and be fast. David Buschur is a Pioneer when it comes to the DSM/EVO. He's been doing this shit since honeys been wearing Sassoon.![]()
I think the guy deserves a little respect, DON'T YOU?
To schedule a DSM/EVO event on the SAME day as the 17th annual DSM Shootout is a KICK IN THE BALLS whether you think it is or not.
