i also talked to bill lowe saturday night. He let anyone walk in his trailer and look at the car. super nice guy. shep was sayin he probably has a few more months to go on the talon. I'm sure hes swamped as always with trannys and also i'm sure he wants everything to be perfect on the car like it always has been and is taking his time to make sure that a detail isn't missed. On a side note shep had probably one of the coolest puppys i think it was a chocolate lab name dexter

I agree about the 2 separate events, it would have been much better if they were held on different dates.. I think I had more fun at night at the hotels than at the actual events. Both were fun, did anyone else stay at the Best Western?

I was at the Best Western. I was there with the guy with 2 foot long dreadlocks haha. It was our first year out there and it was awesome even though talking to some of the regulars it was slower than most years for obvious reasons. They NEED to get different dates for these events because it's not helping any ONE event just killing BOTH events. We still counted nearly 200 DSM's at the dyno day at Bushur. Race day was still fun despite the 3 Q16 cars that blew. Was sad not to see that purple gt45 1g not run, but that guy was super nice and let us in the trailer to look at the car at the Econolodge. I'll have a bunch of pics tomorrow but we just got home from a 7 hour drive and I'm outtttttttt.

New VFAQ- when you do your front stainless lines- do rear ones too- the old lines end up flexing and bursting, since the nice steel ones at the front no longer flex. The old rear brake lines were ok during our 100+mph trip up from Chicago. The line just went on that pass. My brakes went- and I took it out of gear and pulled the E-brake- car kept moving- then it started to move to the side (E-brake probably locked or one caliper seized out back) I won't say it is bad luck, because I am still alive. I am just glad the car wasn't running right on that pass, because, like people said, if it was running right, I probably wouldn't be alive to type this. I should've downshifted instead of just throwing it in neutral and pulling the E-Brake- could've, should've would've- didn't. I am thankful to GOD that I am alive, and thankful to Leon and all the other DSMers who braced the car to keep it from falling back down. The track staff, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, CAT scan/MRI people were all freaking awesome. OHIO is such a friendly place, and DSMers are such good people. Now I am just planning on how to bring her back to Chicago so I can decommission her and move all the salvagable parts to a new chassis- once again a phoenix will rise from the ashes

GOD is good. The ER and trauma docs, after an hour plus of scans and tests in rings and tubes and xray rooms, explained that they had no explaination how I am alive or not paralized. In fact, short of a cut on my tounge, I had no scratches on me. I said I have an explanation, GOD. The head Dr. agreed, saying that, in his medical opinion, it is a miracle. Once again, Mitsubishi cars and Mitsubishi enthusiasts have exhibited grace under extreme presssure. I cannot express in words how greatful I am that Leon (OG DSMer) and a couple of other racers ran over and braced my car.. it was explained to me later, that if it had rolled one more time, due to where my head was, my neck would have snapped. I am typing this from my laptop, which was in the car.. laptop, phone, camera- all found by track staff, paramedics, and other DSMers. All work. I need some follow up tests/visits with my doctor, but feel (physicall at least) fine. They say I will be sore once the stuff from the IV and the adrenaline wear off tomorrow, though.

Are you the guy that rolled it in the sand trap?

Lies, I saw the car last wednesday back at the shop. It will still be awd and the chassis work looks phenominal. I thought the shootout was good, but again I was racing this time around too so... At least I hit a 12. :boring:

Werd, I was there Friday and it's definately still AWD. John is still looking forward to driving it, and the chassis work is crazy! Even he admitted it went a little further then planned, but overall safety is key going that fast. :rocks:

The shootout was great, I had a good time as always. First time in my 5 years of going I got to drive a dsm there and back! I didn't run, and probably had one of the uglier ones there, but it was there! Alot of good cars, the heat was brutal, and the ice cream was as good as ever!

I was the subie wagon with all of the writing at Best Western LOL

I still have to upload pics from the track. Might take a while.

yeah i was the one that got beat the last foot race...slipped out of the hole if i would have had a better launch i would have won LOL...but yeah the shooutout this year was the biggest i have seen it in years besides the fact it was like hotter than hell out both days.. sat. night was a blast and from what i remember no one was really being dumb and stuff...except maybe myself but thats what 6 18 backs a 30 pack and a bottle of patron will do to ya!!! but yeah i had a lot of fun and everyone from the dsm community is the boobs in my book :thumb::rocks: oh yeah and i a got a nice shirt to prove why both events should either come together or be on sep. weekends!!!! :nono::notgood:

Wow, you know whats funny? I didnt even know that was you and I still wanted to talk to you. Im sitting in the stands, watch you take off, and I hear the exhaust and instantly think "420A..." what pops up on the lights, 15.4. OMG . Next run, 15.3. Needless to say, I was impressed. Id like to get my car down to that fast.

On a side note, I was pretty pissed that a lot of the faster cars were at the showdown instead of the shootout. We were missing quite a few 8 second cars this year. And my skin is on fire from the sunburn.

Wow, i feel bad, the whole way up there i was talking to my g/f about how I wanted to meet the guys on the forums, but i had know idea who to look for. I walked up in down the B2 lane a bunch of times looking for 420a's but i saw only 2 others and didnt recognize the guys. Talked to them a little, and the couldnt beleive my times with out me having forged internals. I plan on getting my timeslips up here, along with some pics of the car on the drag strip, but my scanner is all messed up atm.

My g/f also got a video of my on my 15.3 pass, but its poor quality because it was shot on a cell phone, that and she missed my launch i'll get some links when i get a chance.

My friend also was up there, driving his black subaru legacy gt in the TT section, i'm not letting him live it down how his awd turbo'd car got slower times that my 420a NT FWD:thumb:

Truly.... a great event! Bottom line. GREAT turnout.

A lot of hardwork goes into the event every year from people in the Wakeman community to all of us here at the shop to try to make it run as smoothly as possible. Then on Sunday the Summit Racing Motorsports Park crew is the best in the business. No doubt about it. A big thanks goes to the Bader Family and the entire group of quality professional track officials they bust their butt to make our event a success.

The shootout is more fun every year for me honestly because from the day after it ends I talk to more new people via PM, phone or email and when the event comes around next year I get the chance to put faces with the names.

As always it was great to see and spend time with my friends I see once maybe twice a year. Caleb Fetter, Chad Block, Curt Brown, Yusuf Begic, Mike Reichen, Dave Bruzewski, Mike from AWD and his crew, Big Al, Emery & Shawna from STM and their crew, Leon Reitman, Bruce Kwartler, Darryl Hudson just to name a few. Its always a great time to see old friends and meet new.

My highlight of the shootout weekend was seeing my good friend and customer Matt Smith from Winston-Salem North Carolina click off his first 9 second pass personally in his Evo that he's been trying to get for awhile now. Matt is one of the most stand up guys I have ever met in life or racing. Always a good attitude, always willing to help someone out with no questions asked and is a good sportsman & fellow racer. He's had some bad luck in the past and he never once gave up. Congrats Matt!

Im also very glad that big Keith was Ok. I spend some time every year talking to Keith after meeting him a few years ago here. One of the nicest guys you could spend time talking to. He got here late on Saturday afternoon and told me that he had some bad luck on the way here but as he told me "By the grace of god I'm here man and I couldnt be happier. Now I want to shower, eat and take it all in!". Im glad god was looking down on him yesterday afternoon as well. Cars can be replaced. Guys like Keith can not.

From all of us here at Buschur Racing thank you for your support of Buschur Racing and THE Largest Mitsubishi event/race on the planet! You all make the event what it was and what it will be! Thank you!

See you all next year!

Also.... I spent the entire weekend taking photographs for myself/Buschur Racing and Dsport Magazine. I need to go through the 500+ I took, do some editing and then I will post them. I hope to have them up by days end.

Yea the shootout was great heres some pics and I got a couple videos.....I met some people I never thought id ever meet like Paul with the compound turbo setup hes a cool dude and lifted his hood for us....Never thought id see Big AL in person Ive wanted to take my Evo to him to tune it for 2 years now when I get it next year....The hotel party was great econolodge was bumpin for sure.....My buddy Rick put down 575 at Buschur even with his Wastegate blowin open at 6k RPMs which is incredible to me.....And gratz to the guy that did a whole Rear Diff swap in the Best Western parking lot you were greasy as hell....And to the person who tried to JB weld your throttle body good luck with that LOL...

dam man thats crazy im just happy to here that you are ok :thumb::thumb:

Well it was hot as hell and i think i had more fun at night mainly because it was cooler. I saw some sick ass ride and got stuck trying to get on the dyno at buschers. But i must say pulling off my first 12 sec pass in that heat was an awesome feeling for me and i got into the top 6 in the b1.. If i wouldn't have smoked my clutch on my 2nd pass i might have been able to pull off my 12 sec passes. but i was left with 2.2 60 foots for the rest of the races!!

Still had a good time!!

If you pulled off your first 12 yesterday in that heat she has plenty left in her on a 70 degree day/night. Nice job! :hellyeah:
