Man it was hot out! Which shootout the etown or buschur one? I was at etown and there was alot of heavy hitters there. Good time was had by all.

I was there as well, not sure which one.. bushur was there but there was etown shirts also... It was the one at norwalk (summit motorsports park in ohio) I had fun, my face did not so sunburnt... I would like to say thanks to the DSM community, I felt like an oddball not only for running one of the few NT cars, but for my first time at the track, yet everyone was super nice/helpful and all around awesome. One guy just came up to me and asked if i wanted him to remove my silincer for me!

Improving from 16.89 to 15.32 in 4 runs of learning how to launch was fun, I cant wait to get some port work done and to fix my misfires, I want another shot at you turbo guys :hellyeah:

Hopefully cya around next year!

My buddies and I went to the Norwalk shootout - it was pretty hot and several high-powered cars broke which caused it to run pretty slowly. Overall it was a good time but I think having two shootouts on the same weekend was a terrible idea. The DSM community should come together for this kind of stuff, not turn the once-great shootout into a competition amongst shootouts. I thought it was good but I've been to better, I guess I can leave it at that.

Todd.

I agree about the 2 separate events, it would have been much better if they were held on different dates.. I think I had more fun at night at the hotels than at the actual events. Both were fun, did anyone else stay at the Best Western?

I had a blast at the hotel and even the races. The footraces at econolodge were awesome, The beerbongs off the roof, and meeting ppl. Great times. I had a blast this year. I'm still wanting to know the times from etown. I heard ams didn't paSs tech?

AMS passed tech, but they were scrambling last minute to get their catch pan fabbed up the day before and to work out some issues they encountered on the dyno. But... I think this thread is in regards to the Shootout (Ohio) and not the Showdown (New Jersey).

Shep was there but he was in his 9 second Evo....NOT the Talon :notgood:
I think he traded the Talon into CASH for CLUNKERS. ROFL I haven't seen it for a couple years now.

On a side NOTE I think that was the hottest day of the year so far in ohio. Man My fucckin head is sun burnt like a biotch. I would have been WAY happier if it was like 72 and NOT so humid.

A few friends of mine went out. I wasn't able to go. My one friend won the shootout with his 4G63 powered Conquest. Best run was 8.96 @ 156. :talon:

That orange one was bad ass I have a few videos of him. First time hitting 8's in that car and it was at the shootout. :thumb:

It was hot as hell all weekend. I ended up sitting all the way at the top in the shade at Norwalk so it wasnt that bad.

Sorry! I just was asking.

When I got my trans from Shep I asked him about his 1G, his response was he is getting it a tube chassis for it! :)

Does anyone know what happened to Showdown's car, they were #2 qualifier and never showed up for round 1.

Wow, you know whats funny? I didnt even know that was you and I still wanted to talk to you. Im sitting in the stands, watch you take off, and I hear the exhaust and instantly think "420A..." what pops up on the lights, 15.4. OMG . Next run, 15.3. Needless to say, I was impressed. Id like to get my car down to that fast.

On a side note, I was pretty pissed that a lot of the faster cars were at the showdown instead of the shootout. We were missing quite a few 8 second cars this year. And my skin is on fire from the sunburn.

I talked to him, something about a nitrous solenoid sticking and backfiring the intake when he started the car up.

He blew a big ass hole in the intake manifold. All you had to do is go look at car and you could see what it did. Man that sucked, because that car is NASTY! I talked to the owner a little bit friday night super nice guy.

That sucks, I really wanted to see Bill make a good pass at the shootout. It seems every year that car has problems there.
