2009 DSM shootout

First off I want to give a big thanks to Dave, Jarrod, and everyone at Buschur Racing for another amazing event this past weekend! This was my 4th shootout and definately seemed to be the biggest thus far. But my god was it a hot son of a bi***!

My black 2g (carbon hood, doors, hatch) made the trip for the 2nd year in a row hoping to eclipse my last years time on a 16g (12.4 @ 117). Unfortunately I almost made a test pass on 15-16psi and was able to go 12.9 @ 112 granny shifting and spinning like hell off the line. I tore an axle seal and called it quits for the day to help out Curt Brown and watch the big boys race. Hopefully by the shootout next year I'll have the car ready to open some eyes with a teeny tiny turbo and some Curt Brown "magic dust" :sneaky:

I got a chance to hang out with the 386 customs guys over the weekend as well, really cool guys. I have to give them a ton of credit for a small shop like that to travel up from florida. Thanks for all your help this weekend guys! :thumb:

Can't wait for next year!!

I"ll just leave it at no matter what you have done or are doing bad taste is bad taste and those shirts are just that along with F etwon chants. Wether you think so or not

I can agree it was bad taste...and I didnt partake in any of that type of stuff. Just don't take it so personal. They wern't chating FuCCK Slippi...its just good old fashion competition now. Like a Football game...I yell FUCCK the steelers and they yell fucck the browns. Thats just the way it is. I would NOT be surprised to see some Fucck Ohio shootout shirts next year at the showdown. LOL

Oh well...it just sucks that we are all split in 2 groups now. :notgood:

I haven't been following all the threads all that closely lately but, I thought you were going to the REAL shootout? What happened that you ended up in Jersey?

Two things really. One money because my gf needed my help and she comes before dsm stuff anyday. Two and more car related I found out that they were having a bbq and car show and dyno day at turbotrix the day before so it wasn't just a one day thing. If you read back into my post before the shootout I said it's not just about racing I wanted the whole experience. Well I can tell you first hand you get that at englishtown too. I talked with kevin about his rwd compound turbo setup just like you guys talked to paul about his. I talked with tom from dsmlink in person about v3 I talked to Martin from AMS about a contest they entered that the results aren't even out for yet I bsed with Marco and talked with the guys from dsm quebec( I always wanted to meet those guys :thumb:). So I really couldn't justify driving 8 hours and putting myself in a financial situation for something that I can get from a 1 hour drive.

We would like to thanks every one at Buschur Racing for putting on a great event. It was much bigger than I expected. We had a great time seeing all our old dsm buds. We met alot of new dsm'rs and would like to welcome you aboard. Congrats to Al, from DynoFlash, you did a great driving job dude. You are very lucky, because you would of had me in the first round. LOL Due to a nitrious silonoide stuck open, it ended our day. :ohdamn::cry: Thanks everyone for the support! :thumb:

Yeah, money, friends, and distance were the contributing factors to me going to the buschur event. Plus I still have a sour taste in my mouth about the whole east coast event, so it was pretty easy choice here. Hopefully you get a chance to come out this way next year, it truly is a badass weekend from friday to sunday.

Dude I got to be honest that is the nastiest pic of any DSM I have ever seen, ** set to background... check.

Later Dr Turbo

Anyone have video of that thing on 2 rubbers?

*cough* it was a botched *cough* launch. I was wondering how long it would take to see a pic of it. Not taking anything away from the person driving or the car of course! It came back down on two wheels and still was one of the top qualifiers. What I want pics of is that manifold that I was told split apart, nitrous is a tricky animal!

That car still runs 8's man. Not to mention that track is STICKY as hell. It is Literally like Fly paper. The Track temps were around 120* that day too!

I'm well aware of that. :thumb: Just pointing out it didn't lift it's wheels because of a powerful launch. However, I do believe this same car has lifted it's front wheels off a launch before.

Fast forward to about 3:20 if you want to skip all the other vid stuff.

As I said still one of the top qualifiers on a launch like that is amazing.

I did not have the rpm up high enough so when it came off the line, it almost stalled. I just stabbed the clutch and the got the rpm up on it and just launched it. With the Tilton, it is almost impossible for it to slip. In qualifying we were working on the tune at low boost. The 60ft. time was a 2.0 we usually pull 1.3's, so it would of been a decent pass at only 32lbs of boost. As far as the intake, all it did was blow the end off. Very easy fix. And not to mention, a new nitrous solenoids.:banghead:Thanks Bill

Thanks for coming out Bill. I know what your machine is capable of and If I had to guess I would say you would have been the #1 qualifier if the cards would have fell in your favor. As you said though Norwalk hasnt been a pleasant track for you.

Thanks again to everyone who came out and supported the event! We hope you continue to come out year after year to THE....DSM/EVO Shootout!

I can't wait for next year. We are hoping to tow mine up and hopefully be running low 10's to high 9's and maybe if we get lucky have my buddy's drag car built to run 8's/9's... Best shootout I've been too and i can't wait to goto more. Thank you Buschur for putting on this event! It's the most fun I've had all year!

Shit yeah . No more bullshit! I dont know why it would have ever been the same day?!!?

Make that shit in sept so its cooler outside. That makes everybody's car faster!!
