I'm thinking of starting a galant build and from what i can find the 4g64 in the 2001 galant are not the same as the 4g64 in the spyder so i was wanting to know if anyone as done a 4g63 swap in to a 8g galant or if i get a 4g64 from a spyder and build it will that motor fit??

It is the the same internals just a different engine code... The was a huge post on this stuff yesterday...

The block for the 8g and newer Galant and the 3g and newer Eclipse (4g64) is shorter than the older series. I've mentioned this in my 4g64 thread and others.

The rotation of the block in the car has nothing to do with it... the same block just turned around, the difference is the block height as mentioned before by myself from the CP Piston people.

the galant 4g64 block is what evos would use for a 2.1 or 2.4 motor, your going to need the 5 speed tranny out of a 3g eclipse if you want a 5 speed, also the evo head will fit on a galant block, so you can go dohc 2.4 5 speed, there are plenty of people on galantforums, galanttuners and theres one more can't remember, galants are very underrated with what they can become, I'm looking into purchasing one next week to go 2.1 dohc turbo with some secret goodies if this deal goes threw. I think there should actually be a section just for galants seems like galants are coming up in the game, there almost like a fwd evo.
