But decided to get married and i was "forced" to sell it to pay off my debt.

But i dont want to lose that part of me... i want to continue with modding a car.
My friend has a 95 talon tsi. So i decided to also research it and buy a DSM>

I have done research and searched through out these forums. But i get confused with all these engine codes and where to find them, etc. etc.

My first question is : i want to purchase a all wheel drive DSM. Hopefully with a blown motor. I like the idea of the 2.4L option.
Where can i find the block and crank to convert it into a bigger displacemet?

Is there a link with step by step on how to rebuild/transfer parts over?
Sorry for these questions.. just trying to convert from a VAG speaking car/forum into a DSM speaking forum.

Thanks,

JOHN

The 2.4 6 bolt engine can be found in the 85 to 87 Galant (G64b) and the 89 to 91 Hyundai Sonata (G4CS). The Hyundai engine is easier to find. Most junk yards sell complete engines for $300 or less. There are several threads explaining what you need to do to make it work. Just do a search for "2.4". I found just about everything I needed on here.

if i was you, id find a 6 bolt (perfer a 1990) but any will do.. get the block and take it to the machine shop just do a 2.4L stroker kit, you can buy a complete kit for a reasonable price then swap out the 4g63 crank with a 4g64 crank and have it knife edged.. there are several ways you can go about doing this, this is one and another is what malcvr4 stated.. it's up to you and also depends on your money situation.

if you want to spend a lot of money buy a stroker kit, if not just pay for the machining and buy the 4g64 block and 2.4 pistions and do it your self

Oh and just to let you know there is a lot of misinformation out there on the 2.3/2.4 topic. Only listen to those who have actual experience with the builds.

I was always wondering about the srt4 swap to my old 89 2.5 turbo dodge shadow. Would be a lot of work I was told and would be hard to find the motor. this thing was a little beast, had had some slight mods and would give a stock fwd turbo dsm a run for its money. I loved that car but had to get rid of it for the dsm. I sold it to a friend to mod up but he bought a galant vr4 and now hes selling it.

Why use either of those motors? The 4g64/4gcs has the same displacement, is cheaper and is a direct swap.
