2.4 7 bolt stroker.

ok. im building a 7 bolt 2.4 stroker in my 1ga with a 7bolt swap. the q's i have is i have a 2.4 7bolt crank and 2.4 stroker rods. now i have my 2 g pistons but no 2.4 pistons, can my 2g pistons work on the 2.4 stroker rods and crank or will it push the piston up to high and hit the head and bend or break valves?

You are building a 2.3 right? A 2.0 block with a 2.4 crank? The rods are the same length between the 2.4 and 2.4 so it doesn't matter which rods you run. You will need some pistons made for the 2.3 stroker setup. The piston is 6mm shorter so that it won't hit the cylinder head.

uhmm no im building a true seven bolt 2.4 stroker. the difference in a 2.0 and 2.4 rods are the "stroke" 2.0 is a 88 stroke and a 2.4 rod and crank is a 102 stroke. making it a longer stroke. so if i use the 2.0 pistons it should hit the head. because 2.4 pistons are shorter.

the reason im wondering about diff pistons is becuase of compression ratios.

IF you are running the aftermarket 102 mm crank than you will need piston that is 2mm shorter than the 2.3 piston. I would just go with the 100 mm 2.4 crank. There are plenty of off the shelf 2.3 pistons on the market. You are also not going to get quite as extreme rod angle with the 100mm crank. If you want to build a true 2.4 than get the 2.4 block and crank from a galant. You will have a motor with better geometry, it will be cheaper and you will not have to do any clearencing on the block.

The 2.0 (85mm) and 2.4 (86.5mm) pistons are different diameters. The 2.0 piston will be too small. The crank difference is 88mm for a 2.0 and 100mm for a 2.4.

The height difference in the piston you are referring to is a 2.0 to 2.3. The 2.3 uses a 2.0 block and the 2.4 crank with special pistons with the wrist pin in a higher location.
