Try liquid wrench or something equal and let it soak. If that fail try applying some heat to it and wiggle it out with a vise grip. Careful not to burn the rear seal, if you'll not sure, could alway remove first.

That engine is from a car with an automatic. You have to remove the ring from the center of the crankshaft so the flywheel will fit. The easiest way to remove it is to pack the center of it with grease and take a socket that will barely fit in there and put an extension in the socket backwards to block the hole in the bottom of the socket then stick it in the middle of the bushing and hit it with a hammer, the bushing will pop out. Some people use wet toilet paper instead of grease, I used grease and the thing popped right out.

It would not have mattered if it was from a 99 the cranks are the same and fly wheels fit the same for all 7 bolts, the only difference would be the size of the flywheel for AWD or FWD

I remember the first time hearing of the TP/grease trick and thinking ?

Whatever you put in there and pack in with the socket just creates hydraulic pressure to push out the bushing. Just giving you the idea of what your doing. Oh yeah watch for grease shooting out between the socket and bushing when you do it.

We used the toilet paper. And we cramped it in there. And sprayed wd40 or favorite lubricant. Let it set 24hrs. Then put some wheel baring grease packed in ther with socket hit in and.pop it comes out.

My GF thought I was crazy when I did it but it popped right out LOL

Find a socket that doesn't have too much room around it for grease to come out , but not too big that it gets stuck in the bushing. It is kind of messy but it works

thank you guys so much for your help now i just need to find a socket that will fit nice and snug!:thumb:
