Ok so ive read many threads about this and it seems to be they last as long as they were built correctly and arnt beat to death and over 8500rpm on a daily/weekly basis....

Story time!!
I blew my HG and bought a built 1g head and cams to replace it my old stuff(didnt buy all the gaskets yet) Was jut gunna replace it along with the timing and WP and all new gaskets everywhere while I was there... Anyway before this story gets to long a friend has a 2.3 7 bolt stroker that he is willing to let go for cheap that only has 3000 miles on it, pulled out of his friends wrecked car(hit in RF fender) and the timing belt and all parts were brand new before the wreck and all are still on the motor so it is solid and in 1 piece... Im thinking I can get this and have a pretty nasty street/DD car for myself AND if I pick this 2.3 stroker up itll be cheaper than the new head and gaskets I was gunna do...

Do you guys think this is a good idea or should I stick with just the head and cams?

Car: 98 GSX with 85,000 miles
Goals have never changed since I bought it... if I make 400AWHP/AWTQ ill be EXCITED
Setup if I went built head/gaskets would be as followed
Stock 98 7 Bolt bottom end with 85,000 miles
ACT 2100 Street clutch
Evo 8.5 turbo (8 turbo with 10.5 turbine housing) 18-20psi
Custom tubular mani
JAM Built head(JAM springs, Retainers, Revised lifter, fp2 cams, 1mm os ex valves, SSI valves coated, Bowl blend, Light port work)
ARP Headstuds
OE Composite gaskets(Copper sprayed)
Stock 1g intake mani
Throttlebodies.com TB
Emissions delete
Evo 560 Injectors(Pinks)
Evo IX FP
ECUFlash
Evo Scan
AEM Uego Wideband

Setup if I went 2.3 stroker:hellyeah:
2.3 7 bolt stroker(Eagle H-Beam rods, Manley Pistons, Mitsu 100mm crank, All ARP hardwear, All work done at SlowBoy racing, New timing belt and WP)
ACT 2100 Street clutch
Evo 8.5 turbo (8 turbo with 10.5 turbine housing) 16-18psi
Custom tubular mani
7 Bolt 2g head(Brian Crower springs and retainers, Revised lifters, SSI 1mm os valves, 3 angle valve job, Lightly ported and polished, FP2cams)
Stock 2g intake mani
Throttlebodies.com TB
Emissions delete
Evo 560 Injectors(Pinks)
Evo IX FP
ECUFlash
Evo Scan
AEM Uego Wideband

That should cover it... This is my Daily Driven Street car that I take to work and back everyday and it wont see many hard shifts and have a rev limiter of 7250rpm

The 2.3 wil be so much nicer when going for a daily driver. Power is available much sooner and it's just much nicer to drive.

If your goals are 400whp I think your mods list might need a bit of adjustment. The 560cc injectors won't cut it. The ACT 2100 might be weak (but honestly not sure, hopefully someone can chime in with real-world experience on the limits of that clutch). If it were me and I were lacking that info I'd just use an ACT 2600 and be done with it.

2.3 are great for spooling larger turbos without doing an aluminum rod built to spool to 11,000rpms.
They give great torque and are very loud.

However new cams make a car move like a rocket in the high rpms with a 2.0.

Which would you rather have. High RPM fun or Low RPM fun. The choice and consequences will be in your hands when all is said and done.

I feel like you are a little short on a few things to reach your goals of 400AWHP/Torque.
-Injectors i would recommend 650 at least. You will be maxing out 560s at 400hp >100% duty cycle.
-I feel like your psi is a little low. I think you are going to need to be 24psi to come close. (What is this evo 8.5 turbo is it a 16g?)
-As for a clutch I would recommend getting an ACT 2600 kit. i think you will be pushing the 2100 pretty hard.

Well like I said this was my street car and I was just building it as something to be fun on the street to drive and nothing more...

I came across my friend with this 2.3 and figured why not when it can make my life easier for power and street fun and was just wanting some opinions on how this stuff may work out...Which all this is great info haha
Injectors and FP were things I had laying around from my Evo so they just got thrown in for now and the turbo I got out of a trade and yes it is an Evo Twin Scroll 16g that I made a custom mani for cause I wanted that 16g to be different...
Clutch is just what came with the car and has plenty of life left and if ive got the funds after I sell a few things I will forsure get a 2600 but do prefer to have an unsprung hub for the shear fact of less things breaking(Stiff pedal isnt a problem as I do race a Late Model stock car and a unsprung wont even come close to that haha)

QUESTION....
Im getting alot of different answers from people I ask along with companies that I ask the same question.... I will be getting a 2600 pressure plate and lightweight flywheel but which disk will hold up best??
Car is Daily Driven but im not scared of an unsprung 6 puck feel I accually like it but if a sprung street disk will do ill grab that up!
...I want room for growth also so I dont have to redo the clutch if I throw on a 50trim and bigger injectors
