Hi iam new to the dsm world and iam trying to find a good awd tsi or gsx. I've been looking around and have read many forums but iam still a noob. This is the dsm iam looking at getting this weekend and I want to know if it will be a good reliable tsi. Also any other advice or comments on what else I could do to make this better and faster would be much appreciated.

90 Eagle Talon TSi AWD DSM **3200 OBO**

IMO if you could talk him down to $2500, or even $2200, it would be a lot better deal. The miles aren't that low, it doesn't mention what they are using to run those bigger injectors as far as engine management, the front has already been cut up for that "huge knockoff" intercooler so you have to keep in mind the front crash beam is probably trashed or nonexistent...for a daily driver, to me, that means a lot, its the reason I went with a street fmic instead of a race fmic....I like having as much crash protection for the street as I can keep on my car.

plus you know it "rips really hard" so my guess is that he's been ripping really hard on it.

Larger injectors with no fuel management. Probably why he's getting bad mileage.

Located up north I would be concerned about rust. Check everything out very carefully. Find out when the last timing belt change was. If it's been changed, how about the waterpump, and idler bearings. Those items can get expensive real fast.

Around $2200 max if everything checks out ok.

what the others said, and in my opinion if he doesn't have receipts to prove the things you cant visually confirm, don't count on them really being there for sure. same with any maintenance he says was done..

i just plain wouldn't buy it. he has no clue what's been done to the car, nor does it look like he knows what he's talking about himself.

and on my old tsi on 18psi, i was still getting 25MPG long as i kept my foot out of it. look for one that's mostly stock, and preferably has some maintenance records.

don't do it...patience and the perfect one will come to you. I managed to run into a low mileage, stock gst with years of maintenence history, owned by an old lady. Patience is key

I say around 2k tops. I picked my tsi awd up for 400 with a bad head gasket and 87k on the clock. spent about 150 for a head gasket and some arp studs, two days later i was cruisin around in a pretty clean 1gb for 550. If you look hard enough you can still find good deals on the 1g's. unfortunately the 2g's are goind the way of the rx7 and supra...exspensive as hell.
