My clutch is acting up I dont know if its crankwalk. Help me

ok this is my problem i just bought a 97 eagle talon tsi fwd turbo and its got 125,000 miles on it the clutch is acting weird and i dont know if it is crankwalk or bad clutch. its really hard to get into first gear and sometimes hit gears. Also when i stop and put it in first and hold the clutch down and let off the break it roles its like the clutch is engageing still but the clutch is being pressed to the floor. I am pretty new to dsms so i cant figure it out.

Your Slave or Master Cylinder could be bad or you just might need to adjust the Peddle.

Yes, definitely adjust your clutch pedal rod first, since it's the easiest and it's free. It sounds like the rod is too far into the cabin. Adjust it so that the rod goes towards the engine bay. Sorry about the non-technical terms, but it's just easier to understand Here's a link on a how-to...

First things first though. Get the word crankwalk out of your head. It's alot less common than you think. Troubleshoot the problem, don't jump to conclusions.

You'll find that DSM's transmissions are quirky at best. I agree with the previous posters.

Amen to that bro. You know how many 2g owners call me with concerns and right away go to crank walk.

It sounds like you have an issue with your master or slave cylinders. Check on the floor under your clutch pedal for any traces of fluids and check the slave cylinder for any leaks too. You also may want to bleed your clutch line at the slave too.

Drive the car and check for indications of the clutch slipping. If it has as many miles as the car then it would be a very good idea to replace it anway.

you should be ok bud, check the small things first, 9/10 they are the cause of the biggest head aches. Best of luck to you.
