okay first off, this is my first post so lemme introduce myself, im rocky from norcal and i have JUST bought a 95 tsi.
So obviously the first thing im doing is taking care of all the small issues the car came with
il dipstick was missing so i pikked one up but it will not go into the tube, like something is blocking it.
second issue is the ignition switch, it hangs up and doesnt wanna turn all the time, and when it does... you have to hold the key in the start position for 2-3 seconds for it to start cranking, and alot of times it wont even do that untill you screw with it for awhile. (the car does have a greddy turbo timer installed if that matters)
third: drove it home after buying it just fine, no overheating ran fine (was at nite) today i drove about 35-45 minutes and when i got off the highway it started getting hot at the stop lights.(the previous owner rigged the fans up through the ac circuit(ac has been removed))
car has a 1g bov, 14b turbo, (so the previous owner says anyway) bigger piping, a greddy turbo timer a garret boost
gauge, it seems to be running at about 8-9 lbs right now.
so my plan is to deal with these issues, and any others that pop up HAHAHA get new shocks, springs, and tires then have her aligned. after i do that and exchange all fluids for fresh synthetics. I will start doing MY mods which include: 3.5 gm mas and translator, bigger injectors, walbro 190, bigger intercooler, bov, manual boost controller, aluminum radiator, oil cooler, trans cooler, bigger downpipe, electric exhaust cutout, then, crank the boost to 14 and hope it holds together. with this setup and a good reflash on the ecu, do you guys think itll hold up for awhile? shes got 135k on her now, and an automatic trans that shifts a bit slow? and is there anything anyone would do differently or change? or suggest anything for the above issues i said i was havin? also could anyone tell me what rpm the stock rev limiter kicks in at? thanks guys and nice to meet every one, sorry for the hella long post, but i think i love this car
