1G 1G Windshield washer reservoir replacement

Hoping somebody knows what washer reservoir from another car manufacturer will fit in the space of a 91 GSX. I know I'll have to customize the mounting, but I'm having a lot of difficulty finding any options, dimensions are rarely found on any OEM replacements. And I don't really want a used 1g reservoir either as after 33 years the plastic is very brittle, mine just disintegraded when I removed it.

They are not that brittle, just get another OEM one. I have one of each of my cars and they are both fine. I like how they date stamped them also so you know when exactly they were made.

can't find any OEM ones, for 1g multiple different Mitsu Dealer sites say unavailable /not stocked curious where you are finding them. one 1 noted on ebay and that looks nasty

?? what reseller has them, can anyone find one ? i don't think they are available, that is why i'm asking an option for another car brand that is known to fit in the area. i guess i'm the first having this problem.

If you're handy, I'm sure that it would be relatively easy to modify and mount a non-stock reservoir/pump. It's a simple setup. There are also several stock ones available on car-part.com, just make sure if you go after one of these, it's for the front, as the rear one is definitely different. If it's dirty due to being 30+ years old, you can always clean it up / paint it.

Also, the part number for the reservoir changed in 1994 to MB623945, which some online dealers may say is in stock (like here), but you know how that goes

One could always fiberglass the whole thing to patch it up.

hmm both good thoughts, didn't think about the option to use that mesh stuff and resin for the whole bottom. regarding customizing one i can handle that stuff the problem is it is very difficult to get any reseller of to tell you the size/dimensions of reservoirs they are selling, they only advise on it fits this xyz car. so i'm having trouble finding others car's reservoirs that may fit in the space. i will also try that car-parts.com

the search at car-part.com is interesting. of all those listed, i have a couple options i'm pursueing, but you'd be surpised at that list of 20-30 of them how many aren't actually available, about a 3rd are no longer available as car was crushed, another 5 -6 salvage yard comes back and say they aren't in good enough condition to sell. and some say, sorry can't find, and a few say all i have is rear.

I'm not surprised. Did you have to call them all to find out? I’ve never had any luck getting a response when filling out the “inquiry form”.

You could, if you haven’t already, contact Kannapolis Auto Parts (HERE). They specialize in DSMs. They have a ton of them in their yard.
