1g Whining turbo

when the turbo kicks in on my 1g it has a whining sound to it..please dont tell me its byebye

Its possible the turbo is on it's way out. Are you blowing smoke during boost, if so make sure you check oil level daily.

If it is a high pitched whine it could be a boost leak. I would start with a doing a boost leak test. Mine had a high pitched whine and I found out that one of my throttle body gaskets was torn and air was escaping causing the noise.

the higher the boost the louder the whinning will be. i think it might be the bearings going out in it...it does blow a little smoke, which i am worried about, i was thinking if it was the bearings there would be some oil in the lines but there is no sign of oil. i was thinking the smoke could be the bad value seals i have, w/ bad seals the smoke usually clears up as it does.

If it's a low humming sound, save for a new turbo. I've had it happen 3 times.
