I know this is a common question haha. I just installed a PR FMIC. I am getting a horrible whine at about 8psi on spool up. This noise didnt occur until i installed the fmic. no shaft play and i checked and rechecked all vac. lines and couplers. inputs anyone?

+1 On the leak test. Re-check all your hoses and make sure every clampo was tightened up real good.

bout to go do that..dsmj89 i saw that you have the same pr kit. did you notice any difference in spool up sound?

Vinnyy i do not have the kit yet, i had made a thread about the pr kit getting feedback for the kit before i purchased it but i am not sure as wether to get the pr kit or the vrfs kit yet.
However, with a fmic kit your spool up sound should be the same.
The intake is what makes your spool up sound the way it is, not your fmic. If you have a hard intake pipe compared to a stock intake pipe you will obviously hear your spooling a little better. What a fmic does make a slight change is in the bov.
For example, if you have an hks ssqv, the bov will sound more sequential due to air not being pushed through the intercooler pipes so fast and sounding like a quick woosh as it would on the stock i/c piping tdue to the short route the pipes take.
Have you checked to make sure your clamps are all tightened up real good ?
Also if you are running the t25 on the pr kit, remember that's a pretty big fmic so expect to get a tad bit more lag, but it's probably not even that noticeable.
