1G 1G VSS

I was had the dash out requiring some gauges the other day.
I put it all back together and now ECMLink is not getting a signal for vehicle speed.
The dash gauge works though. I didn’t notice this until after cruising the car and it running very poorly.

Any tips on how to get this function back?

On a 1G the VSS is a magnetic reed switch inside the speedometer that makes and breaks a connection to ground. The ECU provides a pull-up to +5v and senses the pulses caused by the switch connecting to ground as the speedometer cable moves. The cruise control and TCU, if present, also do the same.

It's not unknown for the reed switch to die and if it does you can either replace the gauge or the switch inside.

Just the man I hoped would answer!
Ok, I’ll peel it open and see if it’s shot, I have a spare cluster I could try as well so maybe that first

Check the pins on the DLC to see if it's pulsing when the wheels are rolling before ripping the cluster apart.

I plugged in another dash and it is working.
That was my clean cluster too.
